had my first appointment at a bridal shop today! It was such good fun! I took my mum and one of my bridemaids with me. I tried on quite a few dresses, maybe about 10, and really got a good idea of what I want, what I don't want, what looks nice and what doesn't look so good, which is what I wanted to achieve!
I don't know if I've found "the one", there was one clear favourite, which I went back to and put on again at the end, but I'm not 100% convinced... obviously I want to go to a few other shops anyway before commiting, and maybe when I've seen a few other things and had time to mull it over it might make my mind up one way or the other when I see it again. None of them had the lighning moment of "Oh my god, this is THE ONE!!!!" and none made any of us cry (is that a good thing??) but then we are not really criers if you know what I mean!!
I was really pleased to find lots of samples in size 12, 14, 16 etc, as I once got forced to try on a size 10 bridesmaids dress, despite being a good size 16 and six feet tall. Needless to say I couldn't get it over my hips!! But with most of the dresses being lace up backs they really fit to any shape, and are really flattering, which I was pleased about too!!
So a good day all round, and can't wait to go again!!
To round off a lovely day I went with my bridesmaid then to the midwife and heard her baby's heart beat! She is due on Sunday.... so she didn't get to try any bridesmaids dresses on this time - they didn't stock any in "maternity" size!
