Other boards? Siggy challenges?

Once in a blue moon, I'll post on the DIY board. I mostly just look at other people's ideas there. My month board intimidates me. There are so many people on there and I feel like I would post the same things there that I do here. What other boards do you post on? Do you participate in "siggy challenges" for other boards? That part sounds kind of fun to me. Is that only for month boards? Does anyone want to do it on here?

I often lurk on other boards if I am looking for ideas but rarely post anything.  I mainly post here.  I like how small this board is and how helpful this board is.  I guess I trust all of the ladies on this board enough that I dont need to post anywhere else lol. 

I am always shocked how mean some of the other boards get when someone asks a simple question.  I just want to reply - if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all! 

As for the siggy challenges, I have not done any!  I am not sure that I could figure out how to get anything in my siggy!  To tell you the truth, I love the knot, but I dont find their site to be that user friendly.... but maybe that is just me!

I totally agree about the site not being very user friendly.  I feel like they are always making changes, but I'm not sure they are for the better   Plus, I really dislike the knot tv.  I wish there was a way to permanently turn it off.  It always makes my computer go all wonkey before I can click it over onto a new tab.

I've never actually seen a post for a siggy challenge haha!  I always see them in people's signatures, so I'm convinced there is a special members only board where the cool kids go hahaha

I think a lot of other boards just pick one thing per month to put in their signatures. It took me forever to figure out how to put my bio link in mine. The knot isn't the most user-friendly. I completely agree about rudeness on other boards. It amazes me! People are just terrible. I've never felt like anyone on this board was rude. Even the religious boards can be snotty and judgemental. We're all here to talk to people who are going through the same things we are. There should be a spirit of solidarity and support. That's why I like this board. Good job, ladies. We're the nice knotties.

I post on Etiquette and, to a much lesser extent, Snarky Brides. 

I'll admit, my posts are much fluffier here than they are on the international boards.  I'm not mean -- at least, I don't think I'm mean! -- but I really do appreciate how blunt the girls on E. are.  They won't rubber stamp a bad idea just because a bride happened to come up with it.  Some of the local and club boards will; however well intentioned that may be, it certainly isn't helpful.

I love our little Phoenix board! Everyone has such great ideas and advice. I guess I am a little more comfortable here than anywhere else.

Why don't we start a Siggy Challenge for our Phx board?! It will be a special Phx board only siggy challenge Nilla! hehe

I'm all for it! Let's brainstorm ladies! We can do one for May. I've seen all kinds of things: shoes, centerpieces, first picture as a couple, etc.

Sorry ladies I have been totally MIA with the wedding less than 3 weeks away and traveling for work. But we do a Siggy challenge on the May board and really one girl just posts a few ideas for the siggy challenge, polls the board and announces it every other Monday. It's anything from a wedding inspiration, to something seasonal, like your favorite things about summer. Since we are all getting married in May ours are all our final decisions on stuff. See below for this months - food

I think it's a lot of fun and you get to know so much more about the other brides. I wouldn't mind doing it after the wedding is all said and done since I'll stay moderating for a while at least.

And yes, some of the other boards can be quite snarky. Luckily the two I rely on most, I was all over this board when I first got engaged and needed my local help and still check in on you girls as often as possible, are so nice and positive towards everyone's plans. I think that's the way it should be, a supportive group, not some place to get torn down.
