Non-wedding venue suggestions

We're looking for a venue for FIL's 60th birthday in the Scottsdale-downtown Phoenix area for 75-100 guests in mid May.  Budget is not a major factor and have a fairly generous budget.  The party will be in the evening.  Is May considered prime time for holding an event and am I likely to find the more desirable places already booked?  I'm not sure if it will be too hot to hold it outside, so a place with both indoor and outdoor facilities is ideal.
Thanks for your suggestions.

I dont have any suggestions on venues but May is not a prime time for weddings! Thats good news. Most places have lower rates in the summer months.

May is not a prime time. I have several suggestions:
    Modern Steak, Scottsdale
    Olive and Ivy, Scottsdale
    Chart House, Scottsdale
    Brio, Scottsdale
    Marcello's, Scottsdale
    Buster's, Scottsdale
    Seasons 32, Phoenix

Let me know if you'd like me to name more!

We're open to any type of venue.  We want it to be pretty room, ideally with a scenic view and serving excellent food.   One place we're considering is The Farm at South Mountain.  Anyone had their reception there?
