Sam's Club (Rant)

So for months now I have been trying to order my flowers from Sam's Club.  They informed me that I should order them 2-3 weeks before my wedidng day, so I patiently waited to fill my order.  I made 10 attempts to order my flowers through various methods.  I tried their website, calling corporate, going in store and calling in store.  For some reason, Sam's Club did not want me to order flowers!  So fast forward to today, mere days before my wedding.

I go into Sam's Club to check on my order.  Apparently there is no record of it, and I'm effed.  They can't order the flowers because it is too late, and they can't figure out who took my order.  I have no flowers for my wedding.

On a whim, I called Butterfly Petals to see if I could work something out.  Fingers crossed and Knottie vibes that I can have flowers on the wedding day.

I think we would carry parasols if we don't have bouquets, and I'm thinking watermelons for centerpieces.  We're having bbq for dinner, so it doesn't seem that out of place.

Any other ideas if Butterfly Petals doesn't work out?

Ugh...how terrible - guess thats a good note for the rest of us not to even go through them :(

I was thinking of checking out AJs - there is one right by Val Vista so I thought that might work out.  I would just search around for maybe even smaller flower shops and give them a call.

Sorry that you have to deal with this so close to your day!

What about costco too?  I am pretty sure they do flowers...or the online places?

nilla is your wedding this weekend? Can Fiftyflowers or some place online do a rush order for you? What about local flower shops that might have some sort of stock on hand, like cactus flowers or something like that? I am so sorry to here this, you could always do candles as centerpieces too those can be found cheap at ikea.

You may even want to try Safeway near by your house. They may have to use flowers they already have in stock but I would think that they could make you some nice last minute bouquets!
I saw that your mom made you some pomanders. Can you somehow take those from the ceremoney space once the ceremony ends and put them onto your tables? I just did a seach in google for "pomander centerpieces" and there are tons of ideas. Perhaps some tables can have watermelons and some can reuse your pomanders?
Good luck! I will let you know if I have any other ideas!

So sorry to hear that!  My heart sank when I read your post!  I would second calling Safeway, I have heard many brides that are very happy with their wedding flowers.

You also may try Jenn at Ever After Florals.  She was also very highly recommended here on the knot by past brides.  Not sure of your budget, but basic pricing is on her website!  http://www.everafterflorals.com/index2.php

I had a cousin get married in a park earlier this year.  The morning of her wedding she went to Trader Joes and bought her flowers.  They were inexpensive and very pretty.  So, for centerpieces this may be an option and maybe you can find a bouquet from another vendor.

Some of the local florists may have some connections!

If all else fails, maybe you could do non floral centerpieces on the tables?  Lanterns, floating candles, fruit in vases.

Let us know what you end up doing.  I am sure whatever you do will be beautiful!

I have flowers!!!!!  I called Sam's Club, and they fixed my order!  I was sooo relieved, because I hadn't heard back from Butterfly Petals to confirm whether or not they would order them.  I went around all mopey yesterday with a sad face any time I saw flowers haha!  It wouldn't have been the end of the world, but it was a whole lot of stress!

    PHEW!
