The Farm at South Mountain

Does anybody have any thoughts on this venue?  Experiences?  Likes or dislikes?  My fiance and I are looking pretty seriously at having our wedding there!

Thanks!

We never checked it out, but I have always heard really good things about it. The only reason I wasn't willing to go with them was the catering company situation.  Santa Barbara Catering is supposed to be really good, but they were out of my budget.  The venue itself is supposed to be nice and "earthy," which I like. What time of year are you having your wedding?

I've eaten dinner/lunch there quite a few times, and had meetings with work hosted there. Never any big events, but always enjoyed the food, good service, and very quaint/relaxing atmosphere.. 'earthy' like PP said, is a good way to describe it! No wedding experience with them though!

The wedding will be next January, so it worked out that this time of year was good to go check out outdoor locations.  Wat has everyone heard about Santa Barbara?  All good other than cost?

I'm getting married at the Farm soon. Working exclusively with Santa Barbara is kind of pricey, but once I saw the venue, I knew I had found it. They have menu options available on the website if you haven't checked already (http://www.thefarmatsouthmountain.com/plan-your-event.php). One thing they did after we booked was give us a free tasting dinner so we could try some of the food...DELICIOUS! They are very flexible with the menu. If you like something from the tasting dinner that isn't on the dinner option you chose, you can opt to have that at your wedding. The menus are not set in stone and they will work with you.

For some, not being able to choose your vendors is bad, but for me I loved it. Less stuff to have to worry about. They also work with Honeymoon Sweets, so if you choose them, you get a nice discount on the cake. But you have to option to look elsewhere if you wish. I went with Honeymoon Sweets, their cake is fantastic.

Ohh, that info is very helpful!  We were planning on going with a buffet and the cheapest things available.  I figure it all sounds yummy, why not go with yummy on a budget?
I will definitely look more into Honeymoon Sweets.  Thanks!
