Transportation?

I think we've decided on a venue in Fountain Hills. We're goign to have a lot of out-of-town guests and would like to reserve rooms at the Radisson at Fort McDowell, just based on the amount of activities to do there (casino, nice pool, restaurant, etc.).

Now we have to figure out how we get guests from the hotel to the venue. We considered doing the wedding at the Radisson, but I didn't like the actual reception site. The hotel offers a shuttle within a 5-mile radius, but I think our venue site is just out of that mileage.

So, I guess my question is - I'm looking for a way to transport 50 or so guests about 8 miles on a Saturday afternoon. Party bus? Shuttle? Something not immensely budget-breaking?

    You could do Ollie the Trolley! But I'm not sure how many people it fits... maybe 30?

    If the hotel shuttles people within 5 miles and the venue is within 8, I would talk to them and see if they will make an exception because of the amount of business you are bringing them.  The hotel that all of our guests stayed at was about 15 miles away from the venue (because there are NO hotels near Troon North) and the hotel told me if we booked 10 or more rooms they would give us the shuttle even though it was out of the range they normally travel.

    We are using Ollie the Trolley!! I highly recommend them. Dan is great to work with and they are pretty reasonable in price.

    However, I agree with PP-check with your hotel and see if they will budge a bit on the distance. Radissons are usually pretty accommodating. I have worked with them a few times for various events and conferences in the past.

    Definetly check with your hotel.  Our hotel that we are using has a shuttle within 5 mi radius and our venue is about 8.  They are going to do it for us! IT was the actual deal breaker for us that made us go with them! You've gotta at least ask!

    I know my hotel lets you rent out their shuttle on an hourly basis, so I agree that you should check first.
