Rehearsal Dinner Venue

I'm having a cultural wedding (for my fiance's family) the night before the traditional Saturday wedding in lieu of a rehearsal dinner. My FMIL will be cooking traditional dishes with other women in the family all day and they bring it potluck style to the event per their customs. I have had a difficult time finding an inexpensive location that would allow us to bring in outside food (that is not licensed)and have chairs/table set up. We are having around 200 people and so far the only locations I have been successful finding are the Scottsdale Community center and the Deer Valley Community Center that both don't allow you to book an event until it's 6 months prior. This makes me really nervousWe looked into some churchs as our church cannot hold that capacity, but most you have to be members of. Many people have held it at their house (as they do traditionally) or one community center that no longer rents their space out. Can anyone think of any other venues/ideas?

Thanks!

I'm not much help, except maybe a very large park ramada- but you might runtino the same problem regarding not being able to book until closer to even :(  Do you mind if I ask how much Deer Valley (and Scottsdale for that matter) community centers are to rent out?  I couldn't find the prices online when I was looking. :) (also, are you looking to serve alcohol at the 'rehersal dinner'? If you aren't it might open up options?  I'll keep my eyes peeled for venues- I am looking for an actual wedding venue that will allow us to bring our own food/alcohol without a licensed cater).

Have you tried these places?  Both are banquet halls that allow you to bring in your own food and drinks. They do have tables and chairs.

This place has tables, table clothes and chairs already set up  -- I'm not sure if it can fit 200 people, but you can check!  They don't have a kitchen.  They have one restroom per gender.

http://www.ektamandirarizona.org/rental_rates.htm This is for the banquet hall across the street from this temple.  We used both for wedding/reception.  They have tables and chairs, but you'd have to supply your own decorations, and table clothes.  They can totally fit 200 people, and you can bring your own food and drinks. They have kitchen facilities, and restrooms (more than one per gender)
     and loads of space!!

Val Vista Lakes has enough tables and chairs for exactly 200 people.  They are about $2000 if you only rent the banquet room on a Sun-Thurs.  I'm not sure when your RD is, but this might be the perfect place for your dinner.  They allow you to bring in your own food, but they do require you to have an insured bartender. They provide all tables and chairs, you just need linens.  They have a piano in the room, which might be nice entertainment.
