Venue Help!

Hi Ladies!

I am having a hard time finding a venue and am in desperate need of help. I have a small budget ( No more than $8000) I am pretty much going to do as much DIY projects as possible, and then put the majority of our money in the venue/food. We are thinking no more than 75 people, and we would like both the ceremony as well as reception outdoors. I absolutely fell in love with Stonebirdge Manor, but it is way out of our budget. Any recommendations on places? TIA!

One of the venues we considered for our equally small wedding was Sunridge Canyon Golf Club:

We ended up booking Starfire at the Scottsdale Country Club:

Starfire is a smaller venue and was one of the best values we found.  We had our tasting last month and it was amazing.  Seriously: their chef makes some of the best Southwestern food I've ever had!  The event staff is warm and accommodating, and I don't think I've met a single employee who didn't seem genuinely happy to be there and eager to help you.  My wedding isn't until February, but working with them so far as been wonderful.

If you're open to a non-Saturday wedding or morning wedding & reception, that can be a real cost saver.  Most places give pretty decent discounts for events not on a Saturday night.  We're doing a Friday ceremony & reception at Ashley Manor, which has turned out to be one of the more affordable venues we've found.  Bonus, they allow you to bring in your own alcohol (they'll provide the bartender) which can also mean big savings.

Good luck in your search.  You'll find something you love, I'm sure!

What time of the year are you looking at?

Arrowhead Country Club is running a special right now. Its actually an amazing all inclusive deal....but you have to be getting married within the next few months.

We have gotten everything for our wedding for around $5-6k (minus photography, that was our big splurg item) at Seville Golf and Country Club in Gilbert. It's gorgeous, and we both fell in love with it when we drove up.  Our stuff is outside except for the dinner, which we could have had outside if we wanted.

One thing that brought our budget down a lot though was having the wedding on a Thursday.  We saved literally thousands.  25% on photographer (almost $1k alone), a couple thousand on venue/food.

There's a lot of things you can do to stretch a budget a good ways.

    Good luck!

I don't really know the prices on these, but I think I remember other people saying they were reasonable.

Like PP said, you could try a Friday or Sunday wedding. Or, I know most of the places around town give great deals for weddings in the off season (June - September).

Here are some budget friendly venues:

    - Chapel At The Farm:

I have a tight budget as well and I wanted and outdoor venue. I found this amazing place that Is all outdoors. Its super private. You bring in your own vendors which really help to save money.  It is a 15 acre ranch around happy valley and 35 ave . Its so unique and beautiful, Its also affordable. If you are interested I will give you his email. They are just a retired family and friends that decided to make their home a wedding venue. They just started allowing people besides friends and family get married their about a month ago. They are so nice and bend over backwards to make you happy.
    Here is my email Golfin2good4u@yahoo.com.
    Good Luck!!

Check out Regale at DC Ranch in Scottsdale. It's a really unique venue - indoors and outdoors. Tony & Linda are AMAZING to work with, and if you tell them your budget upfront, they can work out a package that has everything you need - photographer, food, cake, DJ, flowers, etc. All of their vendors have really great reviews. Here's their website: http://www.regaleaz.com

Good luck!! Finding the venue is the hardest part!!

I'm getting married at Sunridge, and while I think it's a great deal, I dont' know if it would fit into your budget. I suppose it could if you went with their cheapest food and bar, and I bet the coordinator, Brian, would try very hard to help. We're doing mid-range and spending about $45 per person on food (apps and buffet dinner) and $2000 on the bar (limited).

It is very, very beautiful, though.
