Sedona Wedding?

Thinking of getting married in Sedona AZ. It is going to be  a small destination wedding, about 30 people. Can anyone reccommend any venues? My finace and I will be traveling to Sedona in April to check out some places, just want to make sure we haven't missed any. Thanks!

My parents got married in Sedona 26 years ago at the Church of the Red Rocks. There are a ton of reception venues for sedona on www.weddingwire.com. Just search for venues under the zip code 86336. Good luck! Sedona is a beautiful place to get married!

We just went up on Saturday and toured three venues.  We saw Poco Diablo resort, Sedona Golf Resort, and Los Abrigados.  We liked Poco Diablo and Los Abrigados best.  Los Abrigados has a creekside ceremony and reception, with a ballroom backup or for after you have to cut off the music outside (I think that's at 9 or 10pm).  I think we may make our depsosit on Poco Diablo soon!!!  They have a beautiful place, are super helpful and flexible, they also seem to be able to work with varying budgets.  Plus we liked the feel of the resort itself at Poco Diablo much better than the feel of the time share resort of Los Abrigados, which counts for something when so many people will be staying there.  Poco just had a more intimate feeling to me.  If you have a relatively large budget, go to L'auberge (sp?).  It is amazing and my #1 choice, but just a little too pricey for me.  They have their prices online so you can scope it out ahead of time and decide if it is right for you.

My friends were married at Los Abrigados. It was a beautiful ceremony and they had a small guest list. They did their reception at a restaurant further away but the food was good. This was over a year ago so the name escapes me but it was very nice!

I'm a Sedona bride as well!  I'm getting married at Los Abrigados on 5/29 and we're having about 100 people from all over the country - definite destination wedding.

I've been planning our wedding for over a year, so if you need recommendations feel free to email me at runningmango@gmail.com and I'm happy to help.

We have AMAZING vendors that will work with any budget and have been wonderful to work with. I cannot wait to post my reviews and hope it helps other brides.

We did love L'Auberge as well but unfortunately our wedding party was too big, and music is a HUGE concern for us. If you go there, talk to Kara she's wonderful!

At Los Abrigados, music by the creek does have to end at 9pm but there is also a bar within a 2 min walk, and Ronnie will reserve space for your wedding group to hang out there post-reception as well.  Our wedding is at 12pm and reception starts at 4, so I'm guessing by 9 most people will be tuckered out anyway, but it's a nice option that we are taking advantage of.

The wonderful thing about Los Abrigados as a destination wedding location, is that there is SO much to see/do in Tlaquepaque, that it's nice that guests won't have to drive all over town to go out to eat/sightseeing. They can walk everywhere or catch the free trolley.

Again, feel free to email me if you want more info, I'm happy to help!

    Congrats!!!
    Sarah

runningmango - Are you having people fly into Sky Harbor?  My fiance and I would love a Sedona weding but have a guest list full of out-of-towners.  Since most of our friends are college-age, we were worried about the logistics of getting them from Phoenix to Sedona for the weekend when rental cars might not be in their budgets.

I'm right on the verge of booking a venue in Scottsdale, but I can't quite get the image of a red rocks wedding out of my head...

ETA - I just looked at your bio and realized -- I know you!  Or, at least, I know your dogs.  :)  What a small Internet.  I am sending you a PM.

We're getting married at Tlaquapaque. They have a pretty chapel and various patios or a ballroom you can rent for the reception depending on the season.

Celles - I replied to your PM =)

As far as the rental car issue, I totally understand. We just suggested people carpool, and also, there is a shuttle between Phoenix & Sedona, and it's only $45 each way.  They pick everyone up at the airport and take them to their hotels!  The link for the site is on our wedding website: www.theknot.com/ourwedding/sarahmangan&chrisevangelista

I also work in the industry, and to be perfectly honest, sometimes Sedona weddings are even less than Scottsdale, so if you can do it and that's what you want, I say go for it! I think once everyone gets there, they'll totally understand why we chose Sedona!
