wedding jewelry

does anyone have suggestions for places in town that have a good selection of wedding jewelry?

first, i'm not really a big jewelry wearer so i don't really want to pay more than $150 for earrings, necklace, and/or bracelet. i'm fine with buying something of decent quality and just wearing it for one day and so what if it gets lost or broken.  secondly, i LOVE wearing interesting earrings, so i'm kinda leaning towards getting some really cool chandelier earrings and skipping the necklace and getting a bracelet instead. third, the neckline of my strapless gown has silver-beaded embellishments so i didn't really want to take away from the beauty of that detail by wearing an elaborate necklace. plus i think that if i had some long chandelier earrings they might clash with a necklace???

i dunno, like i said, i'm not really a jewelry person so what do i know?

I'm not much of a jewelry person either, so I'm not sure if this is going to help. (: Have you checked out etsy.com? I bet you'd find something you like there. Some of the prices are reasonable, some are crazy, so just keep that in mind.

I was also going to suggest Costco. Even though it doesn't have a huge selection of jewelry, it does have it and their stuff seems to be nice quality. My mom actually bought me a necklace from there, but I asked her to return it because it was so freaking expensive. I can't imagine wearing something so expensive just for one day either.

I am a little clueless on this issue too.  I LOVE jewelry, however, I never get this dressed up, so I am not quite sure what to do on my wedding day.

I have started to look at pictures of other brides in real weddings here and on other sites to see what I like.  A lot of the pictures show brides who wear Chandelier earrings skipping a necklace (of course depending on how detailed your dress is).  So, if you are not much of a jewelery person and want to stay in budget maybe stick with the earrings and a bracelet and maybe some rhinestones or a fun bobby pin in your hair!

I just wore a bracelet and big chandiler earrings, no necklace, for the same reason you are saying; I did not want to take away from the top of my dress.  My bracelet I got at Macys and my earrings I actually got off the Trash to Treasure board on here!  LOVE that board, I would start there!

I am having Raquel from www,precieuxnydesigns.com design my jewelry.  You can check out some of her designs online.  SUPER affordable and she does a wonderful job.  She will also meet with you to discuss your needs.  Highly recommend!

I ended up makeing my own bracelet and I think I am going to make my necklace too. I went to Hobby Lobby and told them what I wanted to do and they hooked me up with everything I would need. It ended up being so easy and very affordable!!

I used to work in jewelry, so I'll probably make my own. I would definitely advise that if you wear long earrings, you skip the necklace. I feel like some brides look a little, well, cluttered. Etsy is a great place to look and there are many vendors on their who will make something just for you, so if you don't see something you like, you can ask for a bid. Also, if you look at some of the blogs linked on the knot's "wedding obsessions" page, they often have jewelry featured on them. :)
