Affordable wedding venues?

I don't want to spend $20,000 just on my venue/food! Anyone have any suggestions for affordable wedding venues, preferably something kind of modern, in arizona??

What exactly is your budget?  And how many people are you expecting?  What area of town?

we're trying to keep our TOTAL budget between $15-20,000 and expecting around 150 people.  I'd like Chandler, Gilbert, Phoenix, Scottsdale...nothing up north

Can I assume you are looking for Saturday night?  What time of year.

There are so many venues, but I guess I haven't come across too many besides inspirador that would make me think of modern.  Course I wasn't really looking for that.

I would maybe look into some of the hotels?  The San Tan Legado is just opening and They have a nice ballroom and outdoor area for weddings that isn't really garden like.  I have some price info on that.

Maybe others will chime in with some ideas.

Check out the Phoenix Art Museum.  It has a really modern feel and runs fairly inexpensive.  Someone on the nest board got married there about two years ago.  You could ask there for more info.

I am likely doing Val Vista Lakes.

It is pretty traditional, but more affordable than anything else we looked at in the area, and they let you bring in your own catering and alcohol which will be a huge savings for us! (It is cheaper in the summer).

If you want to go really unique there is a venue downtown called the IceHouse. If I could pick it up and put it in a different location I would have rented the venue in a heartbeat, it has a really neat old urban feel.

monOrchid in downtown Phoenix has kind of a modern/industrial vibe. It might fit into the style you're looking for.

I booked my wedding at Cibola Vista Resort & Spa. It's a timeshare resort in Peoria, and since they aren't overly popular it's very affordable. I'm on a super tight budget and will have my wedding for under 10K. Happy to help with other vendors if needed! :)

Tempe Center for The Arts has a great feel, and it's in a great area...I don't remember the price.

There's also a brand new place opening this July called Noah's - it's an event center in the East valley - 202 and Cooper.  I'm not sure the price or the feel of it, but could be worth checking out!!!!

JayeFay got married there, page her on the Nest board, she is a very active poster and can tell you all about it.  She loved her experience there from what I can tell.  Also, she used to have her full budget broken down in her bio, not sure if she still does but I am sure she would share it with you!

Also, The Bentley Gallery downtown is really cool and modern, not sure of the prices though.

Have you checked out 12 west main in mesa? Very modern/industrial and affordable. We toured there but wanted something more traditional.

Look at Bella Giardino- it's gorgeous and a great price! Gotobella.com

That's where Jesse and I booked.

As for the TCA, it is 1600 for the rental for 1 hour ceremony on the TruNorth Patio and 4 hours in the Lakeside room. It is also beautiful- but beware of the pricy- and sole caterer- SantaBarbara Catering.

Schocked - yes I was amazed with how quickly venues fill up.  Yes, Janet has been great so far, always answering questions really quickly and all the vendors I have met with always have high praise for the place as a venue and Janet.  Nillawafer just got married there last month, so you should check out her bio for pics and ideas

I got married at the Dessert Botanical Gardens. They have different areas that come in all different prices. They have a list of companies that they work with and we were able to get FANTASTIC food and rentals with Santa Barbara Catering.

Just make sure to keep on top of everything. Weddings get expensive because of all the things you didn't think of.  Good luck!

you HAVE to check out Portico--- Williams Field Rd and Gilbert Rd. it's on the NE corner across the street from Fry's. It's a smaller venue for about 150 people, but it's owned by a couple who charge AWESOME prices, and offer all-inclusive packages.

that's where my fiance and i are getting married and i'm thrilled with everything. it's VERY good for the money. good luck!

We are also getting married at Regency Garden. Beautiful and super affordable. All vendors included and the prices are unbeatable. We checked out Inspirador but it was too pricey. This venue is amazing, the website does not do it justice.
