Venue: Orpheum Penthouse

Date: March 19, 2011

What's done: Venue, caterer (Copper Square Kitchen), DJ (Rankin with AZ Music Man), Photographer (Madison Kirkman), Dress (from David's Bridal)

Most fun: I really liked going to see the venues, and of course, the cake tasting!

Most stressful: The guest list! and even though, I loved actually seeing the venues, working out the details and logistics of the venues was kind of stresful.

Everything!  I just need to order, write, and send thank you notes!

Which has been the most fun part of planning for you?

My attire!  I loved how everything followed the theme of something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. 

Which has been the most stressful?

The flowers!  We found out that Sam's Club never ordered our flowers a week before the wedding!  They made another order, but somehow only 1/2 of them arrived   DH was amazing though.  He called around to ever florist in the valley to hunt down blue hydrangeas for me.  He drove all the way across town at 6am to pick them up!  It all worked out in the end.

And for the already married ladies, is there anything you would do differently?

Ordered my flowers through a florist haha!  It was so easy to DIY, but I would have been able to enjoy the wedding weekend a little more.

Which has been the most stressful?  Trying to "encourage" my long-distance FI to get involved!  Oh, and dealing with meddlesome future in-laws.

Which has been the most fun part of planning for you?

Asking my bridesmaids  I wrote a little note to everyone and my oldest friend (we've known each other for nearly 20 years and I can't believe I am even old enough to say that!) called me in tears and said it was the nicest thing anyone has ever given her.  It means a lot because sometimes we don't get to talk as much as we'd like.  Another also called and said the note made her cry.  It was nice to know that it meant as much to them as it does to me

Which has been the most stressful?

Planning from across the country!  It's harder and easier than I thought.  It requires snap decisions which makes it so I can't overanalyze things as I usually do!  But then I have to smash all the planning into a few 4 day trips to town

Which parts of planning do you have done? Photographer (Courtney Sargent), asking most of the bridal party, the bridal party dresses (wow we have a lot to do this summer)
Which has been the most fun part of planning for you? Dress shopping- I'm trying to lose weight and I'm worried about picking the right size, alterations, etc.
Which has been the most stressful? The officient- our rabbi volunteered before we even asked him!

Which parts of planning do you have done? All of it, its over :-(
Which has been the most fun part of planning for you? I really enjoyed everything!  But I think that the food and cake tastings were my favorite!
Which has been the most stressful? At the end waiting for all the last minute RSVPs to come in!  It drove me nuts!  Also putting together the seating chart!
What are your colors? Black as a base and hot pink, lime green and bright orange as accents.

And for the already married ladies, is there anything you would do differently? No, I do not think so.  Everything turned out PERFECT, it was the most amazing day!  I guess the only thing I would have done differently is hired someone to make my invitations.  I did them myself, and they turned out exactly how I wanted them and I saved a lot of money, but they took FOREVER to make!  If I had more in the budget I would have just had someone else do it.

Which has been the most fun part of planning for you? I lvoed everything except picking out flowers. But gotta say the dress was obviously nforgetable and deciding on the decor was great but my favorite part was probably the food and cake tasting!
Which has been the most stressful? Coordinating all of my vendors and finalizing the timeline.

And for the already married ladies, is there anything you would do differently? I would have assigned each person in my bridal party somethign to be responsible for - my makeup/lipgloss for tuoch ups, the grooms gift, my camera to take pictures, the emergency kit with goodies, and my second set of shoes. So much stuff got left in my suite because I said, can someone please get this - and nobody did. OH and I would have started hair and makeup earlier. It was all pretty rushed. Apparently 4 hours is not enough time for 8 girls and a bride.

Which has been the most fun part of planning for you?  I'm pretty sure I hate wedding planning.  I've had fun finding reasons to hang out with my mom a bunch though.
Which has been the most stressful?  Realizing my fiance and I had very, very different views on weddings!  I could list the things we disagree on on one hand and this is one of them. 
What are your colors?  Purple and brights (our flowers are hot pink, orange, yellow, green etc)

Which has been the most stressful?  The dress...I was a 2 dress bride.  Made an impulse decision on the first, changed my mind when I saw the second but sold the first and made the money back.

Made my dress appointments at Wedding Atelier and Kleinfelds:) Currently getting my Save the Date/Invites designed.  Filling this out is stressing me out!  I'm starting to feel a little behind....
Which has been the most fun part of planning for you?Scouring wedding blogs etc for ideas.  I haven't really been able to participate in the venue search since I live out of state.
Which has been the most stressful?  Picking a venue while living across the country.

What is your venue? The waterfront in Tempe.
When is your date? 3-19-11, but you know that because yours is the same
Which parts of planning do you have done? Venue, dress (Maggie Soterro "Claudette" from Azteca), invitations (on sale from Michael's and I love them), photographer (Jennifer Weems = amazing! We love our engagment pics), bridesmaids dresses, ceremony (my church) and officiant, 1/3 through required Marriage Prep classes at church, readings picked and all that good stuff
Which has been the most fun part of planning for you? I like DIY stuff. I made baseball pennants for our engagement shoot and I had a lot of fun with that. Otherwise, I would say finding my dress! I have the most amazing cathedral length veil, too!
Which has been the most stressful? We almost didn't get our venue for our date and I was freaking out. Luckily, the other bride flaked and we got it! Also, I haven't decided on a caterer. Going to tastings all over the major metropolitan area does not appeal to me and the only one we went to (Andrew's Catering) did not impress us at all. The people were nice but the food wasn't. I am not looking forward to selecting a caterer at all!

Which parts of planning do you have done?
My dress (David's Bridal), Venue, Food (done by Karsten), Bar (also done by Karsten), save the date templates, invitation and rsvp template, and monogram. Still lots to do! Ahh!
Which has been the most fun part of planning for you?
Dress shopping was fabulous. I had it narrowed down to two dresses my mom and I wanted to show my dad first before buying. When we took him in to show him I impulsively asked to try on one more dress and immediately fell in love! I've also become addicted to searching TheKnot for ideas! It's a great diet though...I get so into searching I forget to eat! 
Which has been the most stressful?
Finding the vendor was stressful as everything is sooo expensive! A few of the more reasonable venues we were planning on were already booked (Brett's Barn at Monterra & Sun City Grand), but we were able to work out a great deal with Karsten GC because my FI and I are ASU students!  Now I'm stressed about being able to pull all of my ideas together on my tight budget...
What are your colors?
Chocolate and green apple (to save money I'm thinking dark brown baskets of green apples as centerpieces on every other table, with tall glass vases filled with  branches on the others!)

Dress shopping was fun ... Choosing the venue was really exciting and wasn't a long stressful process because we had to choose from 5 venues during the week we were visiting Phoenix.
