Day of Coordinators

So my wedding will be very DIY but I'm thinking it might be a good investment to hire a DOC (or even someone to help in the weeks before)...I want to work this into my budget but I have no clue what rates are for this?  If you used someone as a doc (or prior to the big day) can you recommend and let me know approx what the rate was?  TIA!

I did some research into this a while ago, as I'm in the same boat as you.  :-)  I couldn't find anyone for less than $1,500.  Some of them include a meeting a month before the wedding so they can make sure everything is straight with all of your vendors, but mostly it's just for day of stuff.  Going back through my emails, I had contacted Regina Osgood at meant2be events, Sherri Lucero at www.lovetoplan.com, Jennifer Thye at Imoni Events, and Rosemary Worrell at Bella Vita Weddings and Events.  I think I found them searching by ratings on weddingwire but I can't swear to it.  Good luck!

I know Valerie from Blue Print Affairs through work.  I haven't used her as a coordinator, so I don't know what she's like in that capacity, but she's super outgoing and bubbly.  I think she has her prices on her website, but not too sure.

We are using Regina with Meant2Be. From what I understood it wasnt anywhere nears $1500. We got a discount with her because we are using a lot of her services.

I've been doing more research into this, because I'd really love to have a DOC.  Apparently hiring a wedding coordinator is like buying a car.  They all want to know what my budget is, and I tell them my current budget does not include a coordinator, I'm just looking for pricing to see if they're even a possibility.  Then they quote me anywhere from $1,000 - $2,000.  I tell them that's well beyond our means, and then they come back with a lower price.  Two of them so far I've had to ask three times to even get the first price.  I'd really rather do business without all the games, ya know?

The best quote I've gotten so far is from Brandy at Sweet I Do's.  She quoted me $500 for the day of package.  I don't think she's been in business very long, but she has 6 ratings on weddingwire and all of them are 5 out of 5.  :-)
