OK- becoming very frustrated with VENUES!

OK..I feel like I've been looking everywhere for a great venue. Our wedding will be in October 2011...around 150-170 people...and I would reeeally like to stay under $10,000 for the ceremony/reception. It'd be great to find a venue that allows outside caterers or alcohol. Indoor/Outdoor-doesn't matter to us. Any suggestions??!! We've looked at Inspirador (small and pricey), Tre Bella (too small), SanTan Elegante (beautiful, pricey, just not sure yet). We're planning on looking at Venue at the Grove tonight and Stonebridge Manor and Noah's this week.

Any other suggestions for places? Or opinions on venues I've mentioned? I'm stressing out!

The Waterfront, Val Vista Lakes, Tempe Historical Society are some that I checked out as well - all allow outside caterers.

I visited Noah's a bit ago, it was really pretty and the prices weren't crazy either. The only negative would be the location, no grassy/outside areas which is kinda big for me and it's right next to the freeway behind a gas station. But since it is all indoors (and you don't mind that) it doesn't effect it's beauty. Lovely rooms and fun groom room/bride room add on options :)

Here are some places I found that allow outside catering etc. Keep in mind my budget is lower (as is my guest list) so these might not be at all what your looking for :)

Jaycees Courtyard Mesa (200 guests)
Chapel at the Farm (Not sure the max occupancy?)
Cappella Di Amore (Not sure the max?)
Deer Valley Rock Art

Good luck!

I'm using Seville Golf and Country Club... and while they don't allow outside catering, their prices are VERY reasonable for food. It's basically restaurant pricing. That's the main reason I booked with them. You can do outside vendors for everything else, or they can set up vendors that they normally use, or you can mix and match if you have any specific ones you want and other you don't really care about as much.

I think they're really really reasonable, especially for how gorgeous the place is!

We're doing ours at Shenandoah Mill in Gilbert. Patrick (owner) is a little standoffish, but I didn't want someone in my business. They let you bring in anyone you want for vendors. You just have to get a Liquor Liability policy or have a bartender with one if you do any hard alcohol.

Also Noah's - last I heard from my DJ is that they don't have any preferred DJ's and were just going to provide a hookup for an ipod.

Stonebridge is pricey! If you're looking to stay under $10K don't be surprised if this one is crossed off with a quickness. When I was looking for my Oct 2010 wedding it started at $15,000.

Syndelin- I forgot to mention in my earlier post that we DID go see Seville and loved it as well. They're pricing list they gave me was confusing but that could just be me. Whats your budget for your reception? are you having the ceremony there as well? I love how they offered all-inclusive packages

Bella Giardino allows outside catering, although you must use them as your beverage provider.

Yeah, we're doing ceremony and reception. We've estimated somewhere around $5-6k once everything is all said and done. That's for EVERYthing besides clothes and photographer. It depends on how all out we go with the food really. We've been able to upgrade a lot of our choices that we were originally thinking because of their pricing. Filet instead of chicken type thing. We're also only having around 50 guests though (also on a Thursday), so obviously it would be more for a party your size.

The way they have it laid out really can look confusing, but if you go through the list, and decide on a starting point that you think you may want, when you meet with them, they can give you an estimate of what you're looking at, and you can always adjust from there. They seem really willing to work with you and do whatever you want!

Try this place - http://www.lesoireebanquethall.com/index2.php The only reason we didn't pick it, was because we had over 350+ guests, and they wouldn't fit all here. (their max is 300 people)

For Saturday, it's from 5:00 pm – 2:00 am $2995.00
They are located at 29th Ave and Bell Rd, next to the Sizzler's on the corner. And there's an Indian restuarant in the same complex.

These are the things they include:

· 60 inch round banquet tables.
· Gold Chivari chairs up to 300 guests.
· Table linens of different colors (included at no additional cost).
· Cake table.
· Ivory, black or red skirts for head and buffet tables.
· 30 Inch Round Tables.
· Serpentine and rectangular table for buffet
. Dance floor.
· Gold or Silver Charger plates (Included at no additional cost).
· Choice from 3 centerpieces (Included at no additional cost).
. Red Carpet available
. Bartenders for 5 hours, Servers & Security included.
· Set up and clean up. (Restrictions may apply).

They even have a list of preferred vendors that they have worked with before!

Hope that helps!!

We are getting married at Western Skies Golf Course in Gilbert *Val Vista & Warner. Great pricing, relaxed atmosphere. The food, ceremony, reception, set up and tear down are all included and with the low price we were even able to include an open beer and wine bar. They are available for Saturday evening weddings and the price is the same no matter the day or time. Check them out and ask for Jim.

Can I give you some tough love advice? :) To invite 150-175 people on a Saturday night with sit down dinner and alcohol is going to be tough to do under $10,000. If you got bottom of the barrel pricing say for $26 per plate, you are looking at $4000 for 150 people just for the food. That's not including renting out the venue, reception, alcohol etc. I'm not saying it can't be done, but you need to be prepared to do alot of research and have patience. You could save alot of money, by doing your wedding on a Friday night.

I will give the same advice I gave to someone else: email these vendors FIRST and ask for their pricing. Then you won't be disappointed if you visit a venue you love but can't afford. Regency Garden let's you bring in an outside caterer and aloohol and I believe the Secret Garden does as well. Val Vista Lakes is another possibility. You still have plenty of time so don't give up hope!

My fiance and I are getting married at Fiesta Resort in Tempe @ Priest & Broadway...they do plated or buffet style dinners, they are very reasonable, alot is included, even our room for the wedding night. they are also giving a discount on rooms for our guests that choose to stay....I have some coming in from the east coast and they are all staying there, then going up to the sedona area for a short vaca. We are getting married on 10-10-10...in like 38 days. Ask for Sloane, she is taking care of everything for me. It is really nice, and super close to alot, including the I-10, and they do provide a shuttle service for the guests. Hope this helps Smile
Good Luck with your planning, and Congrats on your engagement!!!

Try Portico in Gilbert. They allow you to bring in your own vendors, but they do charge extra to use a caterer other than the one they prefer. They're very nice, though, and the venue is lovely.

I second that!! they allow you to bring in your own alcohol as well, which is awesome. the one down side is that they max out at 150 guests- it's a pretty small venue. but the owners are also a photography and videography company, and they have packages that include practically everything. you can mix-and-match the services you want, too. very flexible. :) www.porticoweddings.com

Arizona Historical Museum - Outside caterer AND liquor welcome. I think they even have the chairs. It's outdoors and you can rent light posts from them too. First Saturday (or maaaaybe 4th?) of every month is free admission, so you can check it out casually.

I'm pretty sure you can do a $10,000 wedding there!
