Weight loss weekly thread

Seems to be a slow posting week around here :)

I finally saw the scale budge this week, of course it just budged back to where I started, but I guess thats progress.

Been doing better eating and DF wants to lose some weight too, so that should help as well.

I missed my run this morning (but went Tuesday) so will have to get it in tonight!

I didn't weigh myself this week. I had a long weekend vacation with my family and ate whatever I wanted.....I'm back on track now so looking forward to next week.  My FI is going on a tour next week for a month, so I'm planning to kick it up on workouts while he's gone since I'll have a lot more free time.  Hoping to surprise him with a tighter littler body;)

I went to DC for Memorial Day weekend for my best friend's baby shower. There were many days of thoughtless snacking and no exercise. I wasn't surprised to see my weight jump up 2 pounds. BUT, the moment I was back in Phoenix I was back on track. I made a conscious effort to be back on plan and am on my way to losing. :)

It's the whole "eat like a caveman" thing. The basic idea is that you cut out everything that society started eating after the Neolithic Revolution of Agriculture (ie, you eat what they ate in the Paleolithic period). So, no legumes, dairy, vinegar, soy, sugar, carbs, potatoes, etc. Just lean meats, fruits, veggies, and nuts. The science is iffy, but in general the idea of cutting out processed foods is a good one. I was attracted to it because some of my friends have cut out dairy and feel much better. My FI was attracted to it because she hates civilization. Seriously. Anyway, we've been doing it for a little over a week and we're feeling pretty good. Most of the cravings have gone away. We're going to gradually reintroduce whole wheat and possibly some dairy, but for the first two weeks we're being very strict. We're also working out and drinking more water, so the feeling better probably isn't just the diet.
