Pregnant Bride's Maid

Ok, I have two attendants, my sister who is the maid of honor, and my future sister-in-law who is a bride's maid.  My future SIL is pregnant and due 18 days before the wedding.  I am thrilled that I am going to be an aunt, but I have no idea when we should shop for her dress.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Thanks!!!!

I actually was a pregnant bridesmaid, and what made it even more difficult was that the wedding was in Wisconsin, and I live in Arizona!! We ordered my dress in a size 18 with extra length about six months before the wedding. At the time, I was only 2 months pregnant and still wearing a regular size 10 jean. The boutique we worked with was awesome. I flew in 2 days before the wedding, and they made my dress priority to get done by the wedding. Remember, it's always easier to take in rather than let out, and definitely order extra length on the dress in case your SIL really pops out. It can always be hemmed. Just make sure you really communicate with your dress place, and they will be able to guide you along. They've dealt with this situation before.

Maybe see if you can let her choose something off the rack when she gets bigger.  Since you only have her and one other as your attendants, it won't be weird if she wears a different dress than your sister.  I also agree with PP that it would be very useful for you to speak directly with the store you plan to buy the dress from.  They will have very good advice :)

I have a friend who is her sister's maid of honor.  She is currently pregnant (about 3 months ish along) and they just went out and got her dress.  The wedding is still a year away and she will have about 5-6 after the baby is born to fit in the dress they purchased.  However, my friend is pretty petite and typically carries all baby, so her fitting into a dress now, is about the size she will be back to before the wedding. Not sure if this helps or is a bad idea, but just one example of what someone else did. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice.  I hadn't planned on them wearing the same style to begin with, so that's not really a problem either.  I think I will talk to the people at the dress store to see what they think.  She has been thinking of getting a dress that has an empire waistline so that if she doesn't lose a bunch of weight right after, or she is still pregnant it will fit and still look good.  Again, thanks!!!!!
