Multi-Cultural Summer Wedding

Hi Everyone!

I just got engaged Saturday and am already beginging the planning! We would like to get married this summer so we need an indoor venue since its so hot! I would really like a place that has lots of windows and a great view since we will be stuck inside.

Our wedding will be a multi-cultural event as I am American and my fiance is Indian. Roughly half of our guests will be Indian, many of them coming all the way from India for our wedding. We will really need to provide Indian food in addition to "American" food for my family and friends. We need a venue that would allow us to order half our food be catered through an Indian Resturant. I know most places don't allow outside caterers but it is really important we accomodate all our guests and be sure they are comfortable.

We plan to have a traditional Indian ceromony in the morning/ afternon and a "western" or "American" ceremony at the site of our reception. A three location wedding is just not practical!

I would really like to keep our wedding at a 10K budget.
(about 100 people total + or -10)

I need a venue!
Any suggestions????????

    Nicole,
I don't have a venue suggestion but I wanted to say Congratulations!!!!
I have been to an Indian wedding and it was an amazing event.   They had a "western wedding ceremony" at a church at Central and I think Northern avenue and then an Indian ceremony and reception on the same day at a huge church off of Lincoln drive just past 40th street.  I don't know but can only assume that the bride and groom(s) attended these churches and that was why?
The one on Lincoln even allowed them to have an African beer as the bride was Ethiopian and the groom was Indian. (The beer was very tasty to me!)   A lot of the girls on this board have great ideas so I am sure you will get a lot of responses.

    Happy Planning!

Thank you so much! We are super excited! We need to get a venue and date picked out ASAP so all our out of town (or country) guests have enough time to make travel plans. Thanks!

I think we have found the perfect venue already! I thought it would be much harder than it was. We are so excited!

What did you decide? Getting the venue is always such a big relief -- it makes things start falling into place.

We booked Inspirador in downtown Chandler. It is just what we were looking for! We can have both our ceremony and reception indoors and the place is beautiful! Lots of space too! We can select our own caterers which is great, however we were surprised with a $500 kitchen rental fee if we don't us their prefered cater. We decided just to go for it since the place was perfect otherwise! So now I am looking for (inexpensive) caterers for Indian and "american"  (whatever that is) food.

    Any suggestions??????
