Need recommendations on a Photographer

So I had a professional photog (W Bradt) booked earlier this year, but he had to re-located to the east coast, so I cancelled our contract since the other options included paying for him to fly out here or having him sub-contract it.. no thanks.

Anyway, our wedding is on a Sunday in Dec at Val Vista Lakes and I want a good photog - just 1, who is under 1500 (what I was paying for Bradt).. anyone have suggestions?  I have found one named Mary Sandy that has some great photo samples, but I would just like recommendations.. hopefully someone you worked with before and loved their end product.. and was no more than 1500.

Thanks in advance!

I just booked Drew Brashler for my February wedding.  I haven't worked with him before, so I don't have an end product to rave about, but he shared two entire event galleries with me -- not just the "best of," but the entire shoot! -- and I really love his work.  He'll do traditional portraits, of course, but overall he takes a more photojournalistic approach.  He has a great eye for composition, too.  Check out his website and his blog and you'll see what I mean.  :)

He does work with an assistant/second shooter, which I know you said you don't need -- but even with a second shooter, 8 hours of coverage, all digital images on disc and a $300 print credit, you'll still come in under budget at $1,200.

    Good luck!

crazy! I swear I looked into Drew when I met him at the Bridal Show in Feb.  I recall him being very pricey. I just went to his site and he definitely re-priced his packages - I would have booked him earlier if those were the same prices in Feb... yeehaw!  great suggestion!  Thanks!!

    Check out Danielledaigle.com

She is great!  We had our e-pics taken in Feb and she was very quick with getting our photos to us and we absolutely loved them.  She is also affordable.  We felt comfortable with her right away, which was important to us since we don't really like having our pics taken.

IWe are still looking for our photog too, so I checked out her site.  I really like her pics, and her prices are reasonable.  Thanks for the rec.  In Response to <a href="http://forums.theknot.com/Sites/theknot/Pages/Main.aspx/local-wedding-boards_arizona-phoenix_need-recommendations-photographer?plckFindPostKey=Cat:Local Wedding BoardsForum:71Discussion:f269577f-a4aa-4926-ae16-68cfc0ff844cPost:249fb395-abd3-4eed-8bb2-d2d270d0585f">Re: Need recommendations on a Photographer</a>:

Both of these ladies were booked for our date, but they have really reasonable prices and seem like they would be great to work with.  Ivy seems to have a lot of really positive reviews and her $1,000 package seems like it covers most everything you would need.  Both have pricing online if I remember correctly.

    Johanna - www.asophisticatedview.com/" target="_blank" onmousedown="UntrustedLink.bootstrap($(this), "692a6", event)">http://www.asophisticatedview.com

Good luck!  This is such a hard choice for us and the prices are all over the place!

Nolan Nissle Photography - 3rd generation photographer so he knows his stuff. He's doing our wedding and did my friend's wedding last year in Sedona. They like him so much that they get all of their family pictures from him now.  I've worked with him before for professional photos and he's a good guy. He's very reasonable with pricing, and extremely easy to work with.
