Fun Date Nights? NWR

With both of us working and the kids we rarely get to 'go out'.  But when we do go out I feel like we're doing the same old stuff (movie and dinner).  What are some new fun ideas for grown-up only date nights?  Any ideas for family friendly time too?  I just want to get out of our dinner and a movie rut!  TIA (PS We live in Mesa but will travel for fun stuff :)).

We went to Dave and Busters on our last date nigiht. It was fun and different. They have a bowling alley, arcade games, food and best of all drinks! It was a fun night and made us feel young again. lol

We go to comedy shows, play some mini golf, or see what events are going on around us, like a pub crawl or something. :)

Tempe Improv is fun, or The Comedy Spot in Scottsdale.  We do ALOT of movies too, so I know how you feel. We do simple stuff like walking the dogs or going grocery shopping and then making some unusual dinner together, that's fun too.  You could go ice skating or got to the F1 Race place and drive list fast cars.

oooo, I am loving these ideas!  And I love that we can incorporate the kids in some of them (sitters are hard to come by lol :))!  Thank you!  I'm making a list so the next time we say 'I dunno, what do you want to do?" to each other I can whip out the list!

Fi and I are going on a ghost tour at the San Carlos Hotel this weekend downtown.

Ghost tour... creepy! I love that idea. I would also suggest signing up for Groupon, a lot of times they will have events/activities on sale for the Phoenix area. I just got super cheap bowling :)

We are also big fans of Happy Hour and People Watching!

You could cruise up to Tortilla Flats. It's the teeny, little town that's just a bit North East of Apache Junction. It has a few cute little shops and the restaurant has great chili.

    or the Arizona Science Center.

For a twist on "dinner and a movie", try out Farrelli's Cinema Supper Club (www.farrellis.com), on Scottsdale & Thunderbird. It's a bit of a drive from Mesa, but it's cool! They're a restaurant and movie theater in one. You could do it as a family outing or date night. They have current movies (not new releases, usually they've been out a couple weeks) and a decent menu. The prices on sandwiches are reasonable, entrees are a little pricey as are the drinks but it's not bad. They add the movie ticket price on to your bill at the end, which is comprable to other theaters. We went there last week and it was a cool experience. You would think you would hear other people eating and talking but actually the loudest people in the place were the waiters, go figure. Yes, it's a normal-sized movie screen and yes, you watch the entire movie WHILE you're eating dinner. Fun experience and it's the only dinner movie theater in the state!
