Mandy Reed Photography

Has anyone had their wedding shot or conducted business with Mandy Reed Photography?  I have read her reviews on other websites with only two negative ones....but would like your thoughts?

Thanks for your help

Happy Planning!

Re: Mandy Reed Photography

  • I am using her for my October 2012 wedding. She has been very responsive to my emails. My e-pics are in March so I can tell you more then.
  • Thanks so much!  I look forward to seeing them!  I am also an October 2012 bride!
  • Her packaging is really really weird.

I don't think I would ever want completely unedited images, and I sure wouldn't want to be charged $3 per image edit for a wedding.  We ended up with around 900 pictures, which would have been $2700 with that pricing. That's insane.  LOL

  • I am using Mandy for my wedding in April.  We did our e-pics in October and although it took a little longer than I would have liked to get my edited pics back, she was in full communication with me that she was working on them and they were coming.  After the e-pics session, she promptly provided me with a disc of unedited pics.  And she had great location ideas.  Although it was alot of pics to go through, it was nice to have options.  We picked our favorites and she edited those.
I have a boudior shoot with her on Feb 5
All in all, I like her, she responds quickly and she def made us feel comfortable in front of the camera... even my fiance  ;)

The nice thing about the way Mandy works with her $3.00 for additional photo edits is that  You can go back to her at any point --1,2,3 years down the road and she will edit any additional photos that you want.  I believe 15 wedding photo edits are including in the package price with additionals costing $3.00 each

All in all I would recommend Mandy
  • I don't see how that's a nice part...  I think she's the only photographer that I've seen that doesn't include at least basic editing of ALL shots from the wedding.  I've looked at a TON of photographer sites and done a lot of research into various ones.

It almost seems like bait and switch pricing to me.  She shows all the fully edited, gorgeous pics on her site, but to get that, it's $3 an image on top of her package pricing.   If it works for you, it works for you....  but it just seems weird to me.

It would have cost me over $6,000 with her pricing to get what we got with our wedding.  That's not counting the other 2 photographers we had, and our albums and canvas that we got.  Yikes...

  • Wow, I didn't know that. We're using her through our venue which is all inclusive. A number of edited pics are part of the package.
  • Thank you for the advice!  I actually had questions about the editing myself.  It could get pricey.
  • My sister used her last November for her wedding. She was ok. Unless you have time to sit and direct her as to all the photos you want and what poses you want with who then you will be left with a lot of weird pictures. We have no joke about 10-15 of the ceiling at the reception hall. I mean dont get me wrong they had beautiful lights up there but we didnt need that many or really even one of the ceiling. Also she took 12-20 pictures of my sisters shoes and flowers and only one bad picture of the cake. The best pictures were the ones we told her we wanted and we posed ourselves. The other that bothered my family is she didnt come dressed for a wedding. She looked like she was hanging out with some friends on a Sunday afternoon. She is a very nice person but I will not be using her for my wedding this April. Good Luck.
  • Wow!  Thanks for the insight Nickie.  I think that I have found a much better photographer at a much better price that is competent.  I don't have the time to direct them on what I am paying them to do!
  •  I'm using Life studios photography they send out two photographers and an editor and at the end of the night you get some of your pictures on an ipad (you keep) to take on your honeymoon I think they are in the 2000 range ill pass you their number if you’d like?

  • I used her for my wedding in 2010 when I got married in Sedona, AZ. Mandy did not charge me extra for travel. She was on time, focused, professional, gracious, and took LOTS of wonderful pictures. She also new enough about the area to help pick out other location to snap shots that my husband and I were unaware of.
If you want a photographer to send you EVERY picture he snaps then don't go with Mandy. Remember when photographers edit pictures they delete ones that they don't like (even if you might have, you would never know they were even shot) In Mandy's package with me I got a cd with full copy write to all the pictures and then I was able to pic 15 of my favs in which she would edit. I trusted that she was a professional and sent her my 15 favs without instructions of what to do the results were amazing! Loved them.
If you want edited pictures you are going to have to pay for them no matter what, other photographers hide the costs in thier packages better. Either way it is VERY time consuming. And you get what you pay for. If you pay for the most inexpensive package thats what you are going to get.
