Our videographer has 3 packages to choose from. It made it easy for us to decide what we wanted. All of their packages include HD full coverage of the ceremony and reception. The difference between his packages where things like a video recap reel, extra coverage of the venues. They are really nice to work with.

It is more about what you want to get out of it. What do you care most about and what do you care least about. We cared about the entire ceremony being recorded that is why we didnt go with Robert Cawthorne. We didnt care if we got a raw footage but since we do...bonus! It doesnt matter to me if he is there while I am getting ready as I would rather have him there until midnight. A lot of these independent videographers will work with you in regards to what you want and dont want.....

    GL!

Just FYI, several brides were asking Robert Cawthorne about having a second camera cover the ceremony so he purchased another camera. The stationary footage is now included on the DVD along with the 4-6 minute featurette and 1-2 hour longer edit.

Like divadancer said, it really is about what's important to you. Do you want all day coverage, ceremony only coverage, or something in between? Do you want a music video or highlight reel included or would you rather just have the traditional wedding video?

Also, watch as many videos by the videographer as possible. How do you feel about their work? I only contacted videographers whose videos I loved. (Seriously, there were videos that would make me tear up even though I don't know the people personally!) Anyone who had so-so work wouldn't be worth the money for me.

I sent you a PM, but we are using Midwest Video Productions of Illinois. www.midwestvideoproductions.com We did go to their studio, where they showed us samples of their work and we we're happy with what we saw. I thought their prices we're good and it seems we got a good deal. they use 3 HD cameras at the ceremony They are very nice people and laided back. They didn't push us at all to make a choice. We went to see 2 other videographers, where we felt like we we're talking to a used car saleman. I don't like to be pressured. We seen this company at a wedding we we're at and decided to give them a try.
