Ceremony & Reception Venue: Bartlett Hills Golf Club, A
Communication with the coordinator, Mary, was pretty easy. We chose to have a Friday wedding for the discount and no minimum. The Friday package includes so much from appetizers, chair covers, custom color chair ties, small floral centerpieces and/or rose petals, and more. We even had a tasting before we signed the contract. The food is great. Everyone raved about it. People also commented on how great the servers and bartenders were. The room has big windows overlooking the little lake and golf course, it's beautiful. Mary completely surprised us the day of our wedding with purple uplighting behind our sweet table. Ceremonies are done on the veranda directly off the ballroom, also looking over the lake and golf course. Florist: Blooming Creations, AKim owns her own business and does it out of her house, so she is more reasonably priced. She will meet you anywhere for consultations. I had very specific ideas about what I wanted and Kim totally understood my vision and put it together perfectly. I purchased all my own candelabras and urns and she had no problem keeping them at her house for a couple months before the wedding. I did get frustrated with communication with her a couple times, but she is better with phone and I prefer email, so that was the issue. She is very creative and does amazing work for a great price. PM me for pics.Photographer: Michael Rastall, AMichael is incredibly creative, easy going, and fun to be around. Our engagement session was done on a horribly cold and misty/rainy day and he still got beautiful pictures of us and made it a fun day. Our wedding photos turned beautiful as well. We love his overall creativity. Several of the bridesmaids and groomsmen mentioned to me how much they liked him and creative he was.
Officiant: Rev. Mark Pietscher, A+
We spent a lot of time trying to find an affordable officiant that we liked. After some time I decided to contact one of the big name Chicago officiants, Rev. Phil Landers of 'I do Weddings'. He was way out of price range and recommended his associate Mark Pietscher. We contacted Mark and he promptly set up an initial meeting at an equal distant location for us. We liked Mark right away. He is very friendly and an all around nice guy. He explained the process of him customizing our ceremony to how we want it. We wanted a romantic, non religious ceremony. He will make it as religious or non religious as you want it. You meet with him again about 2 months before the wedding to finalize things. Then a couple weeks before a the wedding he sends you a complete script of the wedding. I really liked this because I did make some eliminations/changes to some small parts that I didn't like. We received many compliments on our ceremony. He did a great job and was very reasonably priced. PM me for his contact info.
