Yay Photography! and Flower advice please!

So a while back I posted in a panic that out photographer backed out on us.  After a lot more research and phone calls, our second choice was still available!!  We are putting down a deposit so we don't lose our date and he said we can keep working on what kind of customized package we want to do.

I've been going back and forth about ceremony flowers. More decorative flowers and such.  I feel horrible spending all this money for something that is only going to last for half an hour!  I know some decoration is necessary, but how much?  We are getting married on a golf course that is gorgeous by itself since it has a lot of greenery and woods.

Re: Yay Photography! and Flower advice please!

  • So glad you got your back up photographer!

What are the flower centerpieces in (vase, jar, etc?) on your tables?  Could those somehow be used along the aisle or hanging from shepherd's hooks?  I have seen people hang mason jars, then those are put on the table for centerpieces.  Just wondering...
  • I'm glad to hear you got your photographer! I have just a couple arrangements at the alter of the church which we are reusing at places at the reception like card table, entrance way, etc.

Gina that's an awesome idea for the centerpieces, I wish I could do that.

  • What about the shepard's hooks with some flowers in a vase?  Or just shepard's hooks with vases and then some strands of crystals on them?....are you getting married in front of a tree or something like that?  You could hang votive holders from the trees...
  • Great ideas ladies, I will definitely look into that kind of stuff!  I am just so non creative with flowers.
  • I'd not worry too much about ceremony flowers because after all like you said, people will only be there for 30 minutes. But maybe you could use same flowers for your centerpieces during your ceremony? Or how about seeing if you can borrow a votive or some other kind of decoration?

We aren't having any flowers at the ceremony- mainly because it'll be outside and nobody really will notice flowers!

  • If there is a tree I have an awesome pic of hanging pompoms on my work computer.

We're not doing any flowers at the ceremony either.  The Tetons are going to be in the background, they probably won't even be looking at us!
