I'm amazed at how limited the reviews are for bridal seamstresses, other than Mary Catomy (she has pretty much reached divine status on the knot boards!) I called her today and she has been booked through this August for quite some time.
Anyone have any other suggestions for alterations? I need a bustle/quite a bit taken in, am slightly OCD, and on a budget..which significantly limits my options!
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks ladies!
Re: Alterations suggestions BESIDES Mary Catomy...please help!!!!
[QUOTE]If you're willing to go to Naperville, I've heard good things about Sue's Bridal and Alterations. She has favorable Yelp reviews as well!

I called Stitch of Bliss and they took almost a month to call me back and unfortunately she is not really good at returning emails or phone calls after I tried to book a tentative date with her. I found a recent review that wasn't very good so I got scared (although there's only one negative so it could have been an overly picky bride and blown things out of proportion!)

I partially agree with you here. She called me back right away when I first called her, but then getting ahold of her the second time to set upmy first fitting was difficult. I've seen good reviews of her work, so I'm going to go with it. She comes to wherever your dress is, so that was super convinient for me.
I've heard really mixed reviews about the dress doctor. I'm in the same boat- waited a bit too long. I can't beleive Mary C. is the ONLY individual seamstress who people suggest. Has anyone sent you suggestions privately? If so, I'd really appreciate it too!
best wishes.
