Adding Style to a Pre Bought Wedding Dress?

Is it possible to have some one add onto a wedding dress that I bought a while ago to make it more unique? It is a basic A line dress with some black trim on the top and train but I'm not that in love with it any more. Rather than going out and buying a new dress could I meet with some one and have them add some pazazz to it?
I live in the Chicago land area and if any one knows of any places that are able to do such things please let me know!!

Thanks!

I think it is possible, it is just a matter of what and how much it will cost you?

Have you thought about like going to David's Bridal and getting a sash or check etsy.com and they have like belts with gems, etc. That would be a fairly inexpensive option?

Could you add a blingy belt around the waist of your gown? That would be an easy way to jazz it up.

Any decent seamstress should be able to do this for you. For example, I had my dress altered so that it had a lower back. (I did this in MN, otherwise I would refer you). I have known other brides that have added beading, lace, etc to their gowns as well as changing a zippered back to a corset back.

ETA: Do you have a pic of your dress that you can share? That may help give us an idea of what you are working with, and then we may be better able to provide suggestions.
