Mariachis in Chicago

Can anyone recommend any mariachis in the Chicago area, especially any that can play the music for a Catholic mass. My fiance and I went to a wedding out of town recently and they had mariachis for their ceremony music and it was really nice. Reliability is key -- my fiance has heard horror stories about mariachis showing up late or not at all so he wants a group that comes highly recommended on that front. Thanks!

I used a band I saw at the Lalos downtown. I asked my dad for the info, as soon as I get it I'll page you. They were GREAT and great to work with! They got there on time and played everything from the play list. They were there b4 the service and played as we were walking out and then at the cocktail hour. I would be careful of having them play in the church. We tested it out and it was WAY to loud. I think it depends on the size of the church. I went with spanish singers instead

My fiance's cousin used the mariachi that plays on Sundays at Mi Tierra and they were very happy with them.

Thanks Un4getabl2 and morgie44.  Un4getabl2, if you get that number from your dad, I'd greatly appreciate it.  Especially since Lalo's closed their downtown location so I can't show up there myself to get a card.  Good point about the how loud it might be in the church.  We'll test that out before we make any final decisions.morgie44, any chance you could get the number from your cousin's fiance?  If not, this just gives me an excuse to have my fiance take me out for dinner to Mi Tierra one of these nights.  =)Thanks again!

Hi Iselita, I am also using marichis but only for dinner, I don't think that my church will allow me to use them there. My Dj recommended a marichi that plays at La Quinta de los reyes in Aurora. Let me know if you would like their number!
