RSVP date

I took a "mental health" day from work and decided to finish printng our invitations. I am onto the response cards. My wedding is NYE and I was wondering if you think that a December 1 deadline for the RSVP deadline is too far in advance or too short??? Just trying to anticipate the holidays.... I was planning on sending them out Nov 1...opinions???

My RSVP deadline is four weeks before the wedding.  I need to have the count to the venue 2 weeks beforehand, so I gave myself 2 weeks for the replies to trickle in and to call people.  I'd say your timeline is fine.

I think for a non holiday weekend Dec 1 would be fine, but a lot of people make NYE plans pretty far in advance.  Did you send save the dates?  If you did, I think December 1 is fine, but if you did not, I think a little earlier would be better (maybe right after Thanksgiving).  The only problem with sending invites this time of year (I got married Jan 3, so I know where you're coming from!) is that your invite can get lost in the mess of holiday cards, so it might be good to give guests a little buffer.  That being said, I think I was really late and sent mine out the first week of December...oops.  It worked out fine, but we did have to call some guests to see whether they were coming. Good luck!

Thanks ladies. I sent save that dates in January ( as our happy new years cards) so 95% of guests know when our wedding is! I am going to keep dec 1:)

My deadline is December 1 for a January 16 wedding. Longer than usual, but we have lots of out of town guests and hotel blocks that close in November. Plus, I wanted to get them back before the deluge of Christmas cards begins.

I just went back and looked at my invitation and my RSVP date was Dec 1st.  I have no idea why I thought I sent them out the first week in Dec...that is not true at all!  I don't know what I was thinking, sorry :)
