Cantigney in Wheaton

So i've made an appointment to check out Cantigney in heaton tommorow with a Wedding date reserved for July 10, 2010. Has anyone had or been to a wedding there?Kathy

We are having our wedding there in 2 mos. Love the place. Magan is sooo helpful and it is completely reasonable. There is another girl on here allison&donnie that will also be getting married there in 2010. I will let you guys know how it all turned out when I get back from the honeymoon, however I cannot wait! Nver been to a wedding there and haven't heard much about it on here so I am anxious to see reviews as well.

I just went to a wedding there on July 18. It was at the golf course and not Cantigny park.Not sure if it's because I got engaged there but I prefer Le Jardin for weddings because its so pretty at the actual park but the golf course is nice too. I looked into it for my wedding but decided against it mainly because FI's brother got married there.

Who are you guys using for photography and flowers? I did get some recomendations but just curious. Are any of you guys hiring a decorator?

We had booked at the golf course but then cancelled because we were getting mixed messages from the staff. The lady I was dealing with was very rude. I know lots of people really like this place though. Just as a forwarning - they do not lock their prices so if you book now for a 2010 wedding. Expect to pay the 2010 prices that they release in December of 2009 and not the prices you see in the pamplet when you go there now.

kathy350z - we are using George Street Photography and as far as the flowers I will be doing them myself with some very creative help from my familymjune3881 - We are having it at Le Jardin and the lady is super nice and super helpful. Seriously I practically email her questions at least twice a week and each time they were answered right away. Yes you are correct we booked in 2008 but paid 2009 prices, however that still didn't deter our decision as still the price for everything and the ambiance is unbeatable...IMO. Though, they did honor the free night stay at Hilton/Lisle which was in the package we chose for 2008 but not in 2009.

I will be having mine at the Red Oak Room and Karen has been very helpful. She did not tell me that I would have to pay 2010 prices and she already gave me a print out with pricing based upon what I picked. I do get the free hotel with the premium package, she did mention that. Is anyone hiring somebody to decorate?Kathy

We have not hired anyone to decorate. Again, my family and friends will be big helps that day. The most we have are centerpieces that are hand made and the usual candles, place cards, table names, etc. Our theme is fall and Le Jardin and Cantigny already has a very fall feel, so I don't want to take away from that. We aren't even covering the chairs at the reception as they have a nice wooden look.

we went to Cantigny last week, and I think they are booked most of July...Also another thing we didn't like about the place was that if you had more than 200 guests, they would make everyone leave the room that everyone is having dinner to go to another room to dance. But the grounds are beautiful, if you end up not having your wedding there, it is still a great place to take photos
