Vendor ReviewsBefore I review my vendors, you should know that I spent a ridiculous amount of time finding vendors that I trusted. I probably went to 15-20 people for each place before I found someone I was confident in. That being said, the majority of them far exceeded my expectations and I really hope they can help make your day as incredible as mine was. Warning- these are long!Scale - Highly Recommend – No reservations at all. Exceeded all of my reservations. Recommend – Great job overall. Well done. Met my expectations. Recommend with reservation – Met my expectations but there were bumps along the way. Do Not Recommend – Did not meet my expectations. Do not recommend.Kathryn’s Bridal in McHenry – Highly RecommendThis was the 8th or 9th bridal store I went into and they were just incredible. Granted, it is kind of a hike to get to, but it was well worth it. I was treated incredibly well both at my initial consultation and after I bought the dress. I even received a call from the owner the week before the wedding making sure that my dress was good to go and I didn’t need anything else. Kathryn’s Bridal – Alterations – Highly RecommendThe woman that does alterations also works out of her home and my alterations were flawless. She was MUCH CHEAPER than city alterations and my bustle was fabulous, as were the other alterations she did on my dress. I’m sorry I don’t remember her name.Photographer – Larry Silverman – Highly RecommendLarry is amazing. He was so incredible on our wedding day. He was there for 12 hours, arriving almost an hour before we were supposed to start just so he could set up his backdrop and get some extra surprise shots of my bridesmaids and myself. After the band stopped, he stayed for another 30 min. taking pictures of my friends and myself.I haven’t seen our final pics yet, but our engagement pics were great and I’m not worried about the final results. What he showed us on his camera all looked fabulous.Videographer –Michael Lbam- Highly RecommendMichael was wonderful. Although he did not have to show up until our Ketubah signing at 5:30, when he found out that we were going to do some pictures around the city earlier, he said that he did not want to miss out and he came at 1pm to join us. So he, Larry, my maid of honor, my husband, and I jumped in the mini-van, and my mom drove us around for 2 hours to do pictures. It was so kind of him to join us and he climbed in and out of the backseat with a smile the whole time.TVK Orchestra – Recommend The TVK band easily met my expectations. Tom, the owner was wonderful to work with. He created a schedule of the whole night and basically MC’d the flow of things (cutting the cake, garter toss, etc). The band kept the floor packed all night and they did a great job.
