Florist for a Downtown Wedding

Hi all, I'm new here!  I'm planning a downtown (reception is at Pazzo's at 311) next September, and I'm wondering whether any of you have a sense of whether its better to hire a downtown florist or a suburban florist.  My intuition is that downtown florists might charge more for flowers but that suburban florists might charge so much for delivery that the cost difference would be negligible.  Also, if anyone who has had a downtown wedding has any recommendations for florists, I'd appreciate that too. Thanks for the input!!

My florist was amazing and she was definitely more reasonable than some of the other city florists. My wedding was not downtown, but her shop is at the north end of Lake Shore Drive, so not super far from downtown. She does city weddings all the time. Beth at Anna Held Flower Shop. Full review and contact info in married bio.

I really liked working with Jesse from Botanicals.  I also met with Anthony Gowder and thought they were great, too.Welcome to the boards!

My wedding is downtown in June and I am using Grace of vale-of-enna. So far things have been great. Her quotes came out way under all the other florists I recieved quotes from. She lives on the north side of the city and does weddings all over. Some people have said she is hard to get in touch with but so far i have not had any problems. Her work is beautiful, she has a blog on her website.

I'm not using them for my wedding bc they don't do the suburbs, but I always use "APlus Flowers" next to the At&t building downtown. They are amazing there...you give her a price and she can put together something in minutes! Also, check out "Stems", they have an amazing wbsite.

April Recinos from April Joy Events did my flowers, and she was amazing!  She does beautiful, unique designs, has no minimum, and has reasonable prices.  Highly recommended!

I second Jenny from Scarlet Petal. The flowers for our wedding were fabulous and she was more reasonably priced that some of the other florists I met with (we had to work from a preferred vendor list).

Definitely check out Zenia from Flor Del Monte. She's in the city and her prices are very reasonable. She's also very educated in florals and the most recent designs. I HATE outdated floral designs. Also, she's just awesome. We signed with her a couple months ago but she's always thinking of new ideas for our wedding which is in 6 months!
