Random Question

So after 8 days of being engaged I think I found my dress.  I'm getting it at White Chicago (after I visit it a couple more times and get my MOH's feedback).  Worried about where exactly to put the dress.  I don't want my fiance to see it.  Any suggestions?

Do they have to order it, or are you purchasing the one they have "in stock"? If they are ordering it, it will take some time to come in, and typically (so I'm told) Brides leave it there during the alterations stage (if they also do the alterations) and don't pick it up until the week of the wedding. That is my plan. I don't want anything to happen. Now, if you're getting the one that's in stock...I would highly recommend NOT keeping it anywhere where your fiance can see it. Keep it at your parent's house or a sibling's house...somewhere other than where you live.Good Luck!

Andy, you may be able to have your seamstress store the dress for you.  If that doesn't work, you could maybe look into a reputable dry cleaner that could do this for you?  I know a lot of people store them at a home, though.  I would try to see if a family member might be able to store the dress for you?  Be careful of animals/moisture, etc. as you store your dress if you go this route.  Good luck! :)

I left mine at the bridal shop throughout all the alterations, etc.  Then they steamed it a few days before and I picked it up the day before the wedding and kept it in the spare bedroom which was off limits to husband.  He did have to use the computer once and he promises to this day he covered his eyes walking in and never looked at it.

So - great news.  White Chicago (where I am getting it from) is shipping it to my mom's house in Michigan until I need to get alterations.  Then I can leave it there while its being altered.  Best part - only 6.0% sales tax!  Yay!  I totally am glad that I did it - I took pictures and was sharing them with my bridesmaid and my fiance came and tried to look SEVERAL times at the dress.  Nosy little sucker.  Thanks for your advice ladies!
