Please share where you bought your dress from.......I've been to quite a few places and have yet to find THE DRESS. Looking for new stores to visit in hopes of finding a dress that I love! Thanks!

I don't know where you're located and this one is kind of out there, but I highly recommend Kimberly's Bridal in Lakemoor. The staff there is extremely nice!

A L'amour in Barrington!  Beautiful dresses and wonderful service!

I second A L'Amour!! This is where I bought my dress. It's out in Barrington, so if you're looking to stay in the city, this will be a little bit of a drive for you. I also went to Volle's in Lake Zurich. I had good service, but I didn't like the dress selections.

I bought my dress from White Chicago.  They are downtown and specialize in dresses on consignment (once worn) and samples.  All their dresses are very clean.  I'm wearing a Reem Acra that I got for 50% off the regular price.  They are also shipping it to my house in Michigan (for free) saving me sales tax and headache trying to hide the dress from my FH.

I bought my dress at Dimitra's. It's not the fanciest place, but I love their dress selection and my consultant was very sweet and very good at picking dresses out that fit my style. And there was never any sales pressure, even though I went in 3 times before decided to buy.

I bought my dress at Macy's and had a great experience and thought they had a big selection.

I'm a BIG fan of the folks at Crystal Bride in Geneva. They just moved down the road a few blocks to a bigger store and are so nice, very helpful and good selection.I'll also add another vote for Emmy and A'lamour.

Best of luck.  Bad customer service at Bridal Mansion in Lisle.  If you go, they have a great selection.  Just don't work with Margie.

I went to Wedding Belles in Barrington for my dress.  Prices and service are great.  Selection is a little limited because most of the dresses are designer samples, though some are brand new, never worn.  What you see is what you get- no special orders, sizes are what they are.  My dress was a brand new Demetrios that retailed for $1800 and I got it for $1400.I got my bridesmaids dresses from Volle's in Lake Zurich.  So far so good.  Prices are okay, I guess.  My only complaint, and this isn't something just they do- it's an industry thing- they charge extra for plus size dresses, even ones within the size range of what the designer offers.  And it's not cheap- my MOH's $190 dress ended up being $240!  At least I picked dresses they can probably wear again.

Oh, and my sister-in-law had a terrible experience at L'Amour- she had a couture gown, strapless.  They did the alterations and at the last couple of fittings, she felt like the top wasn't tight enough.  She'd been losing weight, but had stabilized by then.  They kept insisting that it would be fine and refused to do anymore work on it.  Well, it wasn't and she hardly got to dance at her wedding because she couldn't move with out the thing sliding down.  She was pissssssed.  And they charged her about $400 for the alterations; she's short, so they had to take a lot off the bottom and it was really intricate lace that they had to work with, so I understand, but they totally f-ed up the top.
