Videographer Recommendations

I'm still trying to talk my fiance into a videographer. I think if I could find an affordable option, he might be more open to the idea. Also - if I could find a videographer willing to just video tape the ceremony/reception and then hand over the raw footage to us for a lesser price (my fiance can edit it together then)... any suggestions?

I definitely recommend Emotia (www.emotia.com).  Ray Pryor is wonderful to work with!

Delack Media Group - we're in the process of booking them. They are running a special right now... $999 for 4 hours of filming (ceremony and reception or ceremony and getting ready) complete with the edited DVD and a few other features. It's good through the end of October. But you should check out their blog and watch the video of Scott and Angela - makes me cry everytime!!

Adrian from Logi Productions had packages starting at $1000 - the package I got with him was $1300 (the gold package) and it included full day coverage (up to 12 hours), two cameras at the ceremony, and more options with the DVD - you can see the packages at their website www.logiproductions.com - of course these prices are from when I booked him last year so they may have gone up a bit by now.

we had actually called ray pryor from emotia on the phone and he was stand-off-ish and belittling when he heard our budget. very rude if you ask me on a first conversation to be jerk to your would-be customer. we looked into I Do Films and spoke with Laurie or Laura who is the wife/secretery for the owner. Matt and Larry (or Louie?) are the ones who will be taping it and have been great so far. They were much more acommodating to our budget and found ways to make it work rather than being rude to us like the other guy.

Why not have a friend's brother or sister (someone not invited to the wedding) take some amateur video? Then you'd at least get some video and pay whatever you feel would be appropriate given the relationship you have. Or maybe find a Columbia college kid on Craigslist that would do it for next to nothing so they can get experience filming. Just some options since it sounds like you really would like some video.

Post a listing for a gig on Craigslist -- you can get people who will do it for just a couple hundred dollars (even less if you're willing to go less professional and/or edit it yourself). I was going to edit the video myself, but then we found an awesome guy who is doing 2 videographers, 3/4 cameras, HD, blu ray + 10 DVDs + formatted for iPod/iPhone play, and 12 hours of coverage for $1,000. We got a ton of other quotes that were cheaper too -- I highly recommend!

Please please please tell me who you found for that rate. That sounds like a perfect package/pricing to me. TIA

His name is Brandon Riley -- his e-mail is: n2itionproductions[AT]gmail[DOT]com This is specifically what our $1K package includes: Wedding (3 camera, Shoot and Edit) Package to include 12 hours of coverage. Overtime available at $50/hr payable by cash before the end of the night. Parking to be covered by couple. Included media: 1 Blu Ray Copy. Iphone/Ipod version of recap. Recap to be posted on video site of your choice (vimeo, youtube, dailymotion, etc). 10 DVD copies also included. Extra copies of the dvd will be $10, extra Blu Ray Copies $20. He is highly stylized in his editing, but that's what I love -- his recaps look awesome: http://vimeo.com/2728561 Good luck! -Laura
