Press Wedding Dress

Hello..I'm currently living in CA, but my wedding will be in the Oak Brook, IL. Since I'll be bringing my dress with me on the plane, my bridal boutique suggested that I get it pressed in the Chicago area. A lot of the bridal boutiques that I have called will not press my dress because I did not purchase the dress from their store. Anyone have any recommendations or suggestions? Thank you!

    I had this same issue (living in NYC, got married in Chicago).  I carried my dress on the plane, but had it pressed before I left New York.  (I put it in the closet in the first class cabin.)  Although I definitely smushed it a little bit to get it through the carry-on bag scanner and in the closet, I didn't need to have it pressed again in Chicago.  I called Davis Imperial and one other place, but if I remember correctly it was about $350 just to have it pressed, which was a lot more than I wanted to pay!

    Great post, I actually was going to ask the same question.  I am local but am having my alterations done by a talented home seamstress.  But she does not do the pressing so I need to find someone close to my location and I will be getting ready in Oakbrook and the Chuch is in Elmhurst!  So keep the places coming!!
