15,000 budget

I'm helping my sister plan her wedding and we are trying to find a reception site that fits in her 15K budget for the ENITRE weddings (so probably something that is around half or 2/3's of that). She wants something different from your typical banquet hall. She likes the idea of a restaurant, historical site, etc. Just something DIFFERENT. Any suggestions?

Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club. That's where we had our wedding and reception. It is beautiful.

How many people is she having? What areas of the city/suburbs are you interested in? That information will help people come up with some good suggestions for you!

We were hoping to have it either the Western or Northwestern Suburbs for 125-150 guests. Thanks!

I think that Maison Sabika might fit that budget.  Graue Mill might work too.

White Pines is great venue! It has a 140 minimum for Saturday weddings. It really has great outdoor grounds, and inside it is not your typical banquet hall.

White Pines Golf Club. It's not all that different, but it does NOT have fugly chandeliers, carpet, or low ceilings. It has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the golf course and sky lights with a wrap-around patio. It was beautiful and SO reasonable in cost. PIB and reviews linked below.

I also didn't want to do the traditional banquet hall thing.  We eventually decided on a destination wedding, but were seriously considering Brookfield Zoo and the Patrick Haley mansion in Joliet.  Also, check out The Grove in Glenview.

Meson Sabika or Cantigny Golf in Wheaton (it's really pretty, smaller budget)

I would have to recommend Green Dolphin Street if she wants the city. They have a gorgeous garden patio and a glass atrium. There food is excellently priced (and excellent), drink packages the best I found in the city, and no minimums (unless you rent out the whole place). Definitely different.

Try Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oakbrook. Its beautiful and totally NOT the typical banquet hall. We had over 250 guests there for under 15K.
