E-Pic Locations

The photographer we booked is based out of Milwaukee, WI which is where we are having our wedding.  My FI is from Chicago and wants our e-pics to be here.  The photographer agreed to do them in Chicago but she wants us to come up with locations because she is not familiar with shooting in Chicago.  We want to avoid Millenium park because we want to stay away from "touristy" spots.  I was thinking of Lincoln Park.  Does any have any other suggestions? And do you need a permit to do e-pics in Lincoln Park?TIA!

We used Mthree studios from milwaukee and she also came down for our e-pics because it was important for us to have places that meant something to us.  We did them at DePaul because that is where we met and also did a few on Michigan Ave.  just because I love the shots over the river and wanted some there.  Anyway, what I am trying to say is, are there any spots in Chicago that are special to the two of you?  That is where I would suggest looking to first.  I think it is those pictures that are the most special for us.    Here are our epics:http://mthreestudio.squarespace.com/blog/2009/5/26/morgan-jose-engagement.html

We had our E-Pics at the Lincoln Park Conservatory and the park right outside the Conservatory. Admission was free and there were no permits needed. Inside the Conservatory there was lots of greenery and plants. Then outside we took photos by the fountain and there's a bridge nearby that has a good view of the skyline.

We did our engagement shoot yesterday in Lincoln Park. We started at the Lincoln Park Conservatory. We also walked around the block to the Caldwell Lily Pond which is a stunning, intimate location with small waterfalls, beautiful rock formations, gorgeous fall trees, and of course the pond! And then we walked to the lakefront for some skyline pics. You could easily get some architectural and urban pics in that area as well. We chose LP because of the diversity of pictures (fall leaves, nature, skyline, lakefront, urban) we could get without having to take transportation anywhere. We did not need a permit. HTH! have fun!
