Re: bach party

Possibly going to Vegas. I don't want to do a standard bachelorette party; by THAT I mean, I won't be wearing a mock-veil, I won't be wearing a "suck for a buck" t-shirt, I won't be wearing a feather boa, and I'm not going to any male strip clubs...non of that. I envision my bach party to be a time for the girls to just chill poolside, drinks in hand, snackin' on some good appies (appetizers). Would love to hit a nice restaurant maybe on Thursday night, check out the outdoor casual-type bars on Friday and go to a "happening" spot on Saturday night. You know...the BIG night out.Still in talks with my girls, but I haven't had one girl say she wasn't interested yet. LOL.

We rented a cottage in New Buffalo Michigan (on lake Michigan) for a wineries/shopping/beach/casino weekend.  Just going with my 7 bridesmaids.  I have always wanted to do this and feel a little too old for the fake veil, penis straws, etc.

I forgot to add....I went to my friends bachelorette party in Miami last weekend and we had a blast!!  Great party spot!

I am not entirely sure, but i know that I was a bridesmaid a few times and though it was probably fun especially for the bride, the destination bachelorette parties ended up costing me a fortune. I know this year in particular has hit everyone hard, and my bridesmaids are already spending a ton of money on my wedding so I am leaving it up to them but told them a night out at some local bars would be great.

Ok, we are going to Vegas, this weekend, in fact.  Since when does a bachelorette party in Vegas equal a trash fest with male strippers and lewd tshirts?  I think that's really narrow-minded of you to think that and post it for everyone to see.  Our Vegas weekend is going to include nice dinners in fancy restaurants, spa day, classy clubs/shows at night and bonding with my best girl friends.  I absolutely can't wait to get to relax with my friends before the hectic holidays take over.

A few of us are going on a little trip somewhere - searching the Caribbean/Mexico - for some sun and relaxation.  But the big one will be in the city planned by 3 of my bridesmaids. Also, I don't kthame meant that just about Vegas...

She was just stating the general reputation that bach parties have, which I think she hit right on! Maybe you should read things more clearly before you throw out harsh comments.Whats up with all the snarky brides on here lately!?

I haven't really talked about it with everyone, but I would like to do the renting a cottage/lake house thing. Since my bridesmaids don't really know each other all that well, I'd rather we all have the opportunity to just hang out together. I feel a little too old for the typical bachelorette stuff also. KellyLynn2- how did you find a place in New Buffalo?

My BM and I just talked about this the other day!  I think we're going to start somewhere tame-ish (Howl at the Moon, maybe) for dinner and fun with my mom, his mom, some aunts, my underaged BM and my friends.  Afterward, just the friends and I will hop on a trolley or bus and hit up all the dive bars we used to basically live in!  I'm psyched, and it fits me perfectly.

dookie32 - Some couple of my bridesmaids have been there serveral times before so they were familiar with places to stay.  We found a house/cabin that sleeps 8.  My bridesmaid are planning it but I believe they booked the Taylor cottage.  Here is the website:  www.newbuffaloinn.comIt sounds great.  Here is the description and the pics look awesome!  I love that we will all be in one house rather than different hotel rooms."Our 2 story cottage with a total of 4 bedrooms - 2 bedrooms with King beds , 1 bedroom with Queen bedroom & and 4th bedroom with 2 twin beds.  Two full Master baths have 2 person jetted tubs and amazing showers. Also cottage has 2 gas fireplaces in living areas and 3rd fireplace in master bedroom. Includes a party room with plenty of gathering space!  Enough room for a gathering or corporate retreat. Sleeps up to 8 persons."Hope this helps!!  We aren't going until June but we booked now because they only have two 8 person cottages.  :)

One of my favorites was renting a party bus and driving around for a couple hours, then we ended up at a bar for 80s music night. I love karaoke and so does one of my bridesmaids planning the bachelorette party so I think we might do that somewhere...otherwise I don't know too many details!

Thanks ladies. Like many of you, I do not want to be dressed up with a penis veil, etc. My bach party is Nov 14th and I've tried to stay out of the planning. I have just made it clear that there will be no "suck for a buck" shirts.BTW, I love the New Buffalo Inn....that is where my fiance and I went on our first 'trip'

Uh, yikes about my last post, btw.  I blame my temporary insanity on being sick for the last week.  I think it's cool that so many people are planning on going away with the girls for a bachelorette party.
