Hi!  My name is Karrie, and I just posted for the first time yesterday after lurking for over a month.Fiance's (first)name and how you met: Kevin, we met and dated in high school, then went our separate ways and didn't talk for 11 years, and after I sent him an email and he came for a weekend visit, he dropped everything and moved here to be with me!Wedding date: 8/7/10Ceremony/reception location: both at Fishermen's Inn in Elburn, ILColors/theme: Purple, green, and silver as a neutral, an outdoor/fish theme (the boy's an avid fisherman)# of guests: 100-140 ishHoneymoon plans: We're thinking Hawaii, but haven't made those plans yetOne unique thing about your wedding: His grandparents, parents, and sister all got married in August also.  Also, I'm going for green/reusable in the sense that most of the decorations will be reusable (potted plants to decorate the ceremony, fish as centerpieces, which will be guests' and our little pets when it's over), so I feel the money is more worth it.Biggest planning pet PEEVE: I think I made a mistake by buying a dress the first time out and now I'm trying to figure out what to do - although that's more of a stress than a pet peeve.  I guess better pet peeves are that I can't seem to stay within budget ($100 over here, $50 over there) with anything even though I'm awesome at it in daily life, and that I can't always figure out the abbreviations that you ladies are using on these boards!  Is there a key somewhere???  :)
  • I'm not old, but not ne, but here we go... Finance's name and how you met: Nick, in college Wedding date: May 22, 2010 Ceremony/reception location: Prairie Landing Golf Club, West Chicago Colors/theme: blue and yellow ("SoonToBeB" - great minds must think alike, same colors and date!) # of guests: 120-150ish Honeymoon plans: Debating right now between doing the whole minimoon/have the honeymoon later thing to save money One unique thing about your wedding: inviting a Congressman/ rehersal dinner at a Japenese steakhouse Biggest planning pet PEEVE: agree w/ pp, too many unwanted opinions and being called a bridezilla because "I don't care enough"

Fiance's name and how we met: Bret, met on match.com Wedding date: To be determined! We just got engaged about a month ago. He wants fall 2010 and I want Spring 2011 Ceremony/reception location: Again...to be determined. We want one location for both the ceremony and reception that is close to downtown and has both indoor and outdoor facilities. Colors/theme: Haha, I feel like a broken record. No idea. I want deep purple, but Bret thinks it's too "girly". Blah. The only combo we have come close to agreeing on is steel blue and silver. # of guest: Hopefully around 150. Honeymoon plans: No clue, but we've tossed around the idea of somewhere in South America. One unique thing about your wedding: I'll find out once I plan it! Biggest planning pet peeve: I was talking to one of my bridesmaids recently about planning and she told me I couldn't possibly consider having a wedding for less than $50,000. Even if that turns out to be true, it still irritated me.
