Wedding at Navy Pier?

Has anyone had or been to a wedding or reception at Navy Pier. I see that you can book the rooftop and I am considering doing this....

I just got this info sent to me. It's a rental rate of $4,000 for the rooftop- with a $15,000 food & beverage minimum (the rental fee is removed if minimum is met). This doesn't include the service, tax & tip.You can email Judy Nulle jnulle@mpea.com for more info!

I've been to a dinner at Riva that was awsome. Never been to a wedding receoption at Navy Pier but we saw one when we were on the fire works boat cruise & I was so jealous! If you can afford it & really love your fiancee & know he's the one forever, I say do it! life is way too short & Navy Pier would be a great venue!  :)

The only thing to ask about (this was the case when we looked at it) was that they wouldn't let you book more than 6 months in advance. That was because their primary business is for conventions and they had to leave it open until the conventions had confirmed they did / did not need the space. Just something to ask about.

i just read that they are very in debt so maybe that is a good negotiating point to try to get a lower rate.

I just got married in September and we actually did it off one of the boats off Navy Pier, wedding and reception! The company was Shoreline Sightseeing and the boat was the Evening Star! It was amazing, and totally in our budget!
