thoughts on RSVP postcards

I was thinking about them - they save a little bit more on postage and not having an envelope and they are more "green".  Is it tacky?  Is anyone doing them?  If so, do you have a picture?

i just sent in a reply to a wedding on a postcard. not tacky at all. google has a lot of great sites for green/environmentally friendly stuff. just saw this:http://www.greatgreenwedding.com/invitations.phpi think it is great! you could also but in a little blurb about WHY you chose the postcard route and i bet many will appreciate the effort!

If you're considering this, definitely check out Vistaprint.com; http://tinyurl.com/bam7lbYou can easily find coupons at retailmenot.com, which is exactly what I used for my STDs. I created them in PhotoShop and had them printed (150 of them) for $20!!!Here's one for 90% off, it's the second one...http://tinyurl.com/mxbpln

I would definitely recommend them!  We did cards and envelopes and everytime I would get RSVP's back we would save the card and pitch the envelope and it just felt like a huge waste of $$ and paper!

I think it's a great idea! We didn't have RSVP cards at all in an effort to save money and paper (we had a small note asking that guests respond online or by phone), but in retrospect I wish we had done postcards. The online responses turned out to be way more complicated than we anticipated and I don't get the excitement of checking the mail everyday.

We did postcards!  We actually bought 8 1/2" by 11" paper and printed 4 postcards on each.  I just sent the invites out on Saturday, so we haven't gotten any back yet - but many family members have used them with much success.  Invite pics are in my bio; I think you might be able to see the top of the RSVP postcard? The postcards are not at all fancy, but I can take a picture if you'd like.

I thought they were 1/4 of a 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of paper, but I'm not so sure anymore after trying to figure out what size that would be...?  I failed math.If this PIP works, here's a picture of one side:And the other:

We did postcards and had a few issues with the Chicago Post Office sliding them in between magazine pages, etc.  So be sure that if you do them, CHECK your mail (even the junk circulars) very carefully.

That exactly what I just did. I have a trifold invitation and one of the inserts are a postcard for the RSVP. It looked perfect with the invitation and it did save money.
