Need help - starting florist search

Beginning the florist search process and am not sure where to begin.  Ceremony will be in Joliet and reception will be in Itasca. Does it matter where I get my florist since both towns are 45 min apart? Is it recommended to find a florist near the area of the wedding site? Thanks!

The delivery charge may be dependant on distance to the venue.  Since your venues are so far apart, if you get a florist close to one, the charge may be more to go to the other.  You can try to get one in between or use 2 different florists if the charge turns out to be a lot.  I am using A Perfect Petal in Mt. Prospect and I'm really happy working with Rebecca so far.  The inital meeting went well as did the meeting where I saw the mock-up.  I recommend her.

I'm using Bride's Choice Wedding Flowers out of Lisle, and it's run out of a woman's home by her and her husband. The prices are SUPER reasonable, and her work is gorgeous.

I recommend Walden Floral in Downers Grove.  Denise was so easy to work with and the flowers looked amazing.  She was so creative when putting together centerpiece flowers based on me telling her the flowers and colors I liked.

I am not sure it matters a ton, but it would be easier on the florist probably if they were closer to the reception venue.  Our florist Kio Kreations (who I definitely recommend) came at the end of the night to pick up all of the itmes that we rented from her.

Just FYI, KIO seems to be majorly booked up... so call quickly if you are interested in them. They were booked for my wedding.I'm using Millers Florist and I love Linda.  She's super reasonable (I received 7 other quotes and she was by far the cheapest and easiest to deal with)... She's close to Joliet I think.  They just charge delivery fees based on where they need to go... I think the email is www dot artmillersflorist dot com.

Is Kio Kreations expensive? Or are their prices pretty reasonable?

She was the most reasonably priced that I met with and I met with a few of the other florists recommended here as well.

I tried to book Kio too for my wedding this past Sept, but she was already booked... she recommended Gina from G-n-G Designs. Gina's pricing was great (because she works out of her house, not out of a shop) and very easy to work with. Gina traveled to my hotel to drop off the bouquets, to the church to set up (which was 5 minutes away from the hotel), then to my reception site (which was 35 minutes away).  HTH!

My ceremony is in New Lenox, and I am using Rausch Clifford.  She's only charging $25 for delivery to New Lenox. She was very helpful (I'm clueless when it comes to flowers), and is all for helping to keep your costs down. Since I don't need centerpieces (my hall provides them), she's giving me a few single flowers to add to the hall provided centerpieces, and has great suggestions for turning your ceremony flowers into reception hall decorations. If you wanted to only go with one florist, but they won't travel that far, can someone in your family drive the reception flowers down with them after the ceremony?
