Dress Shopping

So I am about to being my dress shopping! Need some suggestions on where to go. I live in the city and mom lives in the burbs. I did not realize the prices of dresses until I began to look at dresses in magazines and online (I know wrong place to look!). Any suggestions on reasonable (under $1000) designers/places to shop? The only place I went to in the city was Macy's and I had the same budget. The lady was rude and disinterested in my appointment because I didn't have a higher end budget.I do recommend Casablanca. Their dresses are well made, and many of them are less than $1000. Wtoo is also less expensive, but personally I found their dresses to be very thin and see through. (Could probably be taken care of with appropriate undergarments) Other designers on a lower price point are Alfred Angelo and Mori Lee.

I second Casablanca - that's what my dress was and I paid just under $700, plus quality is very good like pp said.  Another reasonable designer a lot of girls like is Maggie Sottero.  Allure, Jasmine, Alfred Angelo, Mori Lee, Bonny, and Moonlight will also have dresses under $1000.  From personal experience I know Eva's in Oak Lawn, Eva's in Orland Park, and House of Brides have a lot of dresses under $1000.

I just bought my dress for $700 from The Crystal Bride in Geneva.  Ask for Heather, Nancy or Chante!!!  The experience was wonderful and they didn't pressure me at all to increase my budget or buy the dress that day.
