Shower Favors

There's nothing worse than going to a shower party and getting little favors that you know you'll never have any use for and eventually throw away. So I really wanted to get my guests favors they'll use.

I was thinking about wooden spoons...but so far the one's I looked at are $$. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money. Any great ideas or experinces is greatly appreciated :)

You're buying the favors for your own shower?

My mom and FMIL had me choose my favors. I chose damask candles, because my theme for the wedding is a black floral, so they took that idea and used damask.  On most wedding favor sites they were $2 per person (for 54 of them anyway).

I hate getting crap at showers too...  But, everyone loved the candles or at least seemed to.

Have you tried Ikea or the dollar store for the spoons?

At one of my showers we got cupcake salt and pepper shakers, sooo cute! The other we all took home vases from the table with flowers in them, also useful!

At one of my showers we got measuring spoons from the dollar store.  They were inexpensive, but really useful for pretty much anyone.  They also had fall themed candy attached to the spoons (my shower was in november)

I think candles are always a safe way to go. I think I just wrote this on another post the other day, but those little purse holders are adorable. They are at BedBathandBeyond for like 2.50 or you can get them online probably cheaper if you look around.

Everyone likes food. My mom made wedding cake shaped sugar cookies and decorated them with our names and wedding date in icing. So cute!

One bridal shower I went to I received a wine bottle stopper and a matching book mark. I use the stopper and I thought that was good idea.

Thanks for the responses!! I am assisting my mom and future mom in law with favors. They're hosting the shower and i'm basically helping them with the process :)
I have checked out dollar stores but haven't found anything i liked and their "wooden spoons" are plastic. I am having over 250 guests just for my shower party....i have an enourmous family and we have a lot of great family friends so i'd like to stay considerably within an inexpensive budget.

Beau-coup website had some cute ideas and then from there, I would look up the same item on ebay.  Good luck!
