Shark Navigator - vacuums?

We are looking for a vacuum - to spend about $150-180.  At this time we do not have pets, but I imagine in the future we will.  Does anyone have any recommendations?  I have heard good things about the Shark Navigator.  Thoughts?? TIA

    I have a Shark....I really like it.  We have mostly laminate flooring in the house, so I like the fact that it can go from area rugs to flooring w/out a lot of fuss.

    The only warning I have to give is that if youuse it on a really dirty area (like after you've moved things or maybe done a small construction project), make sure you clean it out constantly, or else it WILL clog and the motor will shut itself down for a bit.

    I also like my Shark steam mop and hand held cleaner.  Great products!  Good luck!
