Where to take pictures on the northwest side?

My ceremony is going to be at St. Benedict's at Irving and Western and the reception is going to be in Rosemont. Any ideas where are there are great locations to take pictures around either neighboorhood or inbetween? THanks!

There's the waterfall on Higgins and River, but you need a permit and police escort to block off a lane of traffic I believe. Maybe one of the forest preserves in Norridge might have some good spots?

    Ditto the PP

We are taking our pictures behind the Westin, which is called Community Park. We paid for the permit, and this area has a gazebo, bridge and beautiful pond and two beautiful swans. :)

I used to belong to St. Benedict's before I moved farther NW.  What a beautiful church to be getting married in!  I agree with PP about the waterfall and park in Rosemont.  We are having our pictures taken there also.  My FI and I went to the waterfall and took some pictures to show our photographer and he loved the idea!

    Congrats and Good luck!

For those of you who have taken pictures in the Rosemont parks or know people who have is 30minutes enough? The permits are only for 30minutes. Maybe they'll let me get 2....

depending on your tastes, the blue line would be a nice place to take pics.  go to the irving park station.  huge issue w that is the wind, obvs.  theres the train there too....  lane tech hs isnt too far -- google the street view.  its a nice building and they have a cool totem pole (at the addison/western corner).  there are a few parks down the block or a few others in nearby as well.  i would do a drive-by, a few blocks around.  old irving pak (just west of expressway) may provide some good spots...

I would not recommend blue line at irving. Not very clean nor does it have much of an architectural presences.  Perhaps waiting there for high school every morning has ruined my perception:)

I would suggest taking an hour and driving in the neighborhoods between Bens and Rosemont.  I am a member at St Bens and know the area.  We are having our reception nearby and we found may places nearby(fountain in Lincoln Square, Welles Park Gazebo).
