Post-wedding thank you cards

Are you going the more traditional route with handwritten thank yous to your guests, or sending pre-printed thanks (picture card, etc) instead?

I think you should always do a handwritten card. You can always include a photo in it if you want.

I agree, I would always prefer a handwritten thank you, even if the message is short and sweet. You can always include a photo though.

We did handwritten cards and it really wasn't THAT bad.  We also "bought" (free) buisness cards on Vistaprint that had the link to our photo website for all.  So we could get the word out!
It's time. Adoption saving and process started in November 2012.

We hand wrote all our thank you cards and had them done within two weeks. Set a schedule (like 5 a day for each of you) and stick to it and you will be done in no time. It really isn't bad, it just gets repetitive.

We handwrote ours. Popped in a movie and cranked them out. Our photographer gave us small business cards with the information on where to view/purchase our pictures so we just put them inside the thank you notes.

We did receive a card from friends that was pre-printed and handwritten. So, they had one of their pictures printed on the front and the information on where guests could view/purchase pictures on one half of the card. On the other half of the card they handwrote a thank you note.

Handwritten!  The only way I'd be okay with either sending or receiving a preprinted card was in the example that Aimers gave.

Ok, that's what I thought. For the last 3 weddings I attended, they did photo "postcard" type thank yous and I always thought the etiquette experts swore by handwritten. I was thinking maybe it was some kind of new trend or something.

    Thanks, ladies!!

Definitely handwritten.  I think it's considered poor etiquette to have a pre-typed/printed message.  People spent time and money to come celebrate with the B&G and deserve a personalized TY.

Like pp said, just set up a schedule.  You don't have to do them all at one time.  I think we ending up having about 120 TY cards to write.  H took some and I did some.  We took them to work and did them during lunch; I'd go to Starbucks and get a tall drink and work on some.  We had them all out within 2 months of the wedding.

We did photocards from Zazzle and still had plenty of space for handwritten message (granted some would say it's rude we waited to get our photos back to order the cards.  But we thought getting them sent w/in 2 months of wedding was good!).

I ordered ones similar to HZ's from Shutterfly then hand wrote out all of the cards. We recently got a pre-printed one from wedding we traveled to and I thought it was a little tacky. If I can come to your wedding, you can send me a hand written note.

Love these photocards! I know what you mean, HZ, I'm hoping to wait for our pics, too, so I hope people don't think I forgot.

Ours shouldn't be too bad, I'm thinking 100 or so. I zipped through invites in 5 days by myself so this shouldn't be much harder.

My cousin did photo cards from Snapfish and then wrote a note inside. It was a great way to mix both!!!
