locally grown flowers

Has anyone ever gotten flowers from a local greenhouse or grower?  I was thinking of using mostly potted plants for decorations (mums, ferns, etc.)  Any ideas how far in advance I'd need to order them, or of any places that do advance bulk orders?  I'd also like to use local stuff for the other flowers (boquets, bouttonieres, etc.), but I don't even know what is available in NE Ohio for an October wedding, or where to start looking.

    When I worked for Lowe's in Niles, we would do "special orders" all the time for large amounts of specific plants for whatever reason.  You'd have to go to the store and talk to the Outside Lawn and Garden Manager.  If the wedding is in October, you'd probably have to place the order in September at least.  I would suppose that any other store like Lowe's would be able to do the same thing for you.
