Tipping Vendors

Are the DJ, photographer and DOC generally supposed to receive a tip?  I was told to tip my photographer 20%.  With a package a photo package at $2,500 that's $500!  Does that seem right?  Is there anyone else I should think about tipping that I'm missing?  Gratuity is included for our limo bus so that's already taken care of.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

My rule of thumb is if they went above and beyond, tip them whatever you feel is fair.
Etiquette says you do not need to tip if they own their own business (I don't agree with this neccessarily).
    DJ should be $50-$100
    Photographer should be $50-$100
    DOC should be $25-$50

really, whatever you feel is fair for the service they've provided.

Here is what I am doing:
DJ: $75 apiece (we have 2)
Photographer (owns her own biz but will tip probably $100
DOC will tip $50 (also owns her own biz)
    Florist-$60
    Video-depends on final product
    Trolley-gratutity included

also, don't worry about tipping them right away. You can always send a thank you card after the wedding with the tip.

We made sure to tip the servers at our reception, and the hotel shuttle driver.  We still haven't decided on what to do with the florist, because she was so fabulous and fantastic!  Because my daughter had a church ceremony, we also had envelopes for the altar servers.

What about MUA & hair stylists with their own businesses (out of their homes, no brick & mortar studios)? Opinions?

depends on how good of a job they do but 15%-20% is the norm there.
