What is the best gift that you've RECEIVED as a bridesmaid?

And if you feel like it, what's the least favorite gift you've received?

Worst: Jewelry. I hate getting jewelry as a bridesmaid. I have yet to wear any of it again and most of it is cheap and themed.

I've never gotten a BM gift that I like (all are jewelry) so I can't tell you what I would like. Maybe a pashmina in a color I like.

My best friend recently got married and each bridesmaid got a different gift.  This is of course a lot more work for you.  I got a vintage doll ( I have a huge collection - don't judge), one of the other girls is really into yoga and she got what was described as the rolls royce of yoga mats - and then everyone got photo albums with pictures of ourselves and the bride.  It was super sweet.

Worst gift was probably one of those wrap around spa-towels.  You know the kind with the velcro at the top.  There just really wasn't any thought put into it.

I think the best gifts are those that show your appreciation for each of your bridesmaids individually and as their own person, and the worst are those that feel cookie cutter, like I could have been any other body standing there in that dress.

I made jewelry for the girls to wear with their initials, but honestly it was really cheap.  They also got a pashmina (ebay! I have the seller I used in my bio, good quality).  For some of the girls I gave them wristlets, one got perfume and one got slippers and a giftcard.

So yes, the jewelry was matchy-match, but the other gifts I tried to match to their personalities

I've only been a BM twice. Once was a clutch which was too tiny for me to fit my digital camera and cell phone in...fail. Second, my MOH paid for all of us to have a mani/pedi.

Best gift:  some Philosophy bath products, but then again I like the brand so I was a happy camper :)

Worst:  probably jewerly that matched the dress because I havent worn it since and a tank top that says bridesmaid... bc I dont want to look like an idiot walking around in a top afterwards that says bridesmaid on it.. lol :)

I guess I just dont expect much when it comes to getting a BM gift.

Best gift: a wusthoff knife, it sounds like a strange gift, but I'm really into cooking and always wanted one.

Worst gift: matching jewelry - seriously, what woman under the age of 60 wears a broach?

Two of the best that either I got or know someone has given...
MY MOH gave us each a robe with our name embroidered on it to wear while we were getting ready (I still use mine today) and a friend of mine gave Coach wristlets (they are pretty inexpensive if you go out to the Coach Outlet and get them).

I would love a robe with my name on it.

I agree with PP,  the worst thing I got was matching jewelry which I still haven't worn to this day.
The best was a spa day-mani/pedis/lunch!

I shopped for my girls like it was their birthday. I got everyone a Coach wrislet from the outlet and a necklace specific to their personality to not wear on the wedding day. I did get matching shoes and hair pins for everyone but I'm not counting that as part of their gift.

I've only been a BM twice.  Once I received earrings and a necklace to wear with the dress.  The second time I again received earrings and a necklace, but also got a personalized makeup bag.  I liked the bag, because I now reuse it as a lunch bag.  I'm not a big fan of the jewelry.  I would never have selected it for myself and will likely never rewear it.  I actually feel kind of bad that the brides picked out and spent money on the jewelry...

I say if you get your girls jewelry, get them something that really can be worn with everything! I got my girls sterling silver earrings from Tiffany's. Can't go wrong there! $100 each.

you can also shop the sales at the Coach outlet and get some cute purses for the same price (or more depending on size) as the wristlets...  I didnt like the wristlet, but I did like the summer color purse...

I've been lucky.  I've liked all the gifts I've gotten so far. I'm not too picky.  I pretty much like anything but I liked receiving a purse hanger as one of the gifts. I have a couple of them now since some kinds don't work on all tables.   I'm actually giving one to the person who is giving my blessing at the wedding too since she liked mine so much.  I've actually given a lot of those as gifts recently and just ordered a lot more of them to give as gifts for non-wedding related gifts.  I truly use it when I go out to restaurants.

My cousin got us a toiletry travel bag that unrolls and hangs on the towel bar in your hotel room.  I use mine every week since I travel for work.

    Worst - definitely jewelry.

I've only stood up once, and got nice jewelry, but it's almost too fancy, so I haven't worn it since.  I do love the robe idea for the girls to wear while getting ready ... I may have to steal that. :-)
