Texas knottie needs assistance with Chicago area stores

FMIL is located in NW Indiana. She has to go dress shopping and FSIL wants to take her to the Chicago area. She thinks there will be a better selection of dresses. FMIL is currently a 16W. What stores should she try to find a dress at? I would prefer to send her to a store that has a good selection of MOB/MOG dresses and hopefully some larger sizes. Thanks so much.

I live in Chicago, but I got my wedding dress at Char's in St. John, IN (on Rt. 41).  The service was fantastic and they had mother of the bride/groom dresses, too.

We went shopping at the following stores for my mom's dress. They're all pretty much in the SW 'bubs.

That Girl Boutique (no appointment) * lots of beautiful dress but pricey*

    11359 S. Harlem Ave

    Worth IL

    708-448-6701

Lili of Treste (no appointment) * This is where my mom bought her dress. We had to dig a bit to find the one but she saw a few she liked*8711 W. 95th StreetHickory Hills, IL 708-598-3632 Bella Sposa (closed Tuesday) * big selection of prom dresses, but smaller selection of MOB dresses but worth checking out *9524 179th StreetTinley Park IL708.532.2100
My Sister and Me Boutique (no appointment) * very small selection of dresses but if you're in the area could be worth going. Sales staff were very helpful * 25 Ash StreetFrankfort, IL 815-464-8373

We also went to A'lamour in Barrington and had a great experience there.

My mom is the same size.  I had her visit from Michigan to go dress shopping.  I would say stick to the bigger department stores, Macy's, Nordstrom, ect, you'll not only see lower prices and have more modern & fashionable dresses.  Bridal stores tend to have the older styles, so I wanted to avoid that.  I also noticed that Woodfield Mall has a Lord & Taylor with a huge Women's dress section.
